I thought Disneyland was going to get a waterpark in a lot few blocks down Disney currently has as land. Disneyland could sure use a waterpark. Will it ever happen?

There have never been any confirmed plans to add another park or a water park to DLR. I'm sure ideas have been thrown around here and there, but nothing has ever progressed into a plausible concept.

Also, I'm not sure extending the resort to a couple blocks down would be the best idea. A lot of people stay onsite just for the "immersion factor" (i.e. being immersed in the Disney magic from the beginning of their trip to the end). If you put a water park a couple blocks away, even the onsite guests would have to break that immersion to go "outside" of the resort.

Disneyland will not build a water park.

why? because a seasonal park just wont make a lot of money...

I think the rumor is for a westcot...

Yes for Westcot I hope ~ if it's anything like Epcot that is!! To me, Epcot *World Showcase* and Expedition Everest are the only things Disney & S CA are missing *when comparing to WDW.

I agree. I haven't even been to Epcot and I want Westcot here! Actually, I recall first hearing about plans for Westcot way back in the '80s, and at the time, I wasn't that thrilled (I was young; didn't know any better!). Now, many years later, I would love to have Westcot, but I thought there was some talk a few years ago of the Westcot plans being scrapped (maybe due to space or zoning limitations?), and that's why there was confusion about what a third park would be - IF there is a third park.

I am one of the ones in the 'No Water Park' camp. I know a lot of folks would love a Disney water park, but if Disney has a rare opportunity to build a 3rd park for DLR with such little space to work with, I would prefer it if they did something more creative, magical and imaginative. Plus, Knott's has their water park and Six Flags has theirs. I just want something else from Disney for California.

I agree with Sherry, just could not figure out why. I get wet enough the way it is.

I would love for Disney to come on down to San Diego. Lot's of room here!

Westcot - meh! I was very underwhelmed by Epcot when we visited WDW in the 90s - so unless it has been majorly overhauled/improved, I can't see that it would add to the charm of DL in any way - just give us more DL - there are so many great Disney movies that haven't been fully explored by way of a ride/attraction...and then there's Pixar who just keep the great movies coming...
