Has anyone heard any news on this rumor? I totally hope that this happens. I just hope it has some kind of tropical theme to it. I heard that some Disney Ananlyst were concerned with Econimist statistics on a recession. I hope to God we don't have a recession. This will kill the whole deal. But according to Paul Pressler, he is not scared of the recession. Disney will live on.

Go Paul Pressler!!! I love his way of thinking. So besides this info. does anyone know anything? Come on cast members? You guys have to know something.

The last time I heard anything about this rumor was in the Summer of 2001. From what I've heard, there are already a ton of water parks in So Cal and they can't stay open all year round like at WDW, so it isn't very feasible for DL to have a water park. Although it would be fun, I'd rather have a third park or a DVC built at DL.

That is exactly what I heard and exactly how I feel!

Paul Pressler is no longer involved in Disney (thank goodness) and hasn't been is quite a few years (DLR has has 2 presidents since his leaving and the next comes in soon). The water park idea has been shelved as far as I know. The newest Disneyland Resort president is Bon Grier. He takes over from Matt Ouimet next month.

I heard about this on my 2003 trip to DLR. At the time Disney was having problems getting the city of Anaheim to approve it. There are lots of water parks already available and the strain it would put on the cities water supply was to much for some people. I don't think it's ever going to happen. Now Disney has to decide what to do with the land.

The plan was shelved when DCA didn't perform as hoped.

There was even a website up for awhile, but that's been gone for 3 or 4 years now.

I am sure they will come up with something fantastic for that land. And oh my Gosh, Disney Practically owns Anaheim and its Jurisdiction. I don't think they will have much problem getting through plan check. If it wasn't for Disney, Anaheim would not exist as it does. Besides, I live in Temecula CA. Where it gets very hot, with rarely any rain. And they have been approved to build a water park there. And let me tell you the City of Temecula, is alot stricter then Anaheim. I deal with all the cities in Southern and Northern California and Temecula is by far one of the worst cities to deal with. And if Disney really wanted to build a water park, they will do it. No Questions Asked. It may not just happen right now. And who cares about all the competition. Typhoon Lagoon and Blizard Beach both, kill any water park that exist. As far as I am concerned, pretty much anything Disney touches rocks! If Disney made a Water Park in Anaheim, it would be way better then Soak City, Raging Waters. Come on guys were talking about Disney here! And the weather is pretty much hot from spring to September. They will probably close from end of Sept. to March. They close water parks in the winter at the WDW. So what is the difference? Have a bit of hope guys! Don't just give up. I know I won't be.

The sad part is that many Anaheim residents hate DL (and many of them moved there after the park was there). I was reading the city council pages the other day and there are numerous complaints about the fireworks and air pollution - the residents have complained about the traffic congestion for several years. Disney paid a great deal of money to upgrade the city streets, the 5 fwy, and the on/off ramps to move traffic out of the streets as much as possible.

My thoughts are don't choose to live there (move there) if DL bothers you.

And . . . DL generates a lot of tax revenue that stays in Anaheim and OC. So soibn is right - with DL Anaheim would not be a booming tourist area and OC might not be "on the map."

they never close the water parks at WDW, one at a time is down for refurb over the january-February months.
