Well, I'm totally zonked. This past week has been pretty wild.
Monday - make some last minute errands & I got to my folks' house. My sister was an hour late & almost had to meet us at the airport. Once we got there the flight boarded an hour & a half late. We got to Long Beach & had to walk down steps from the jet (whoa, old school). It was as humid as Dallas was.
We grabbed In-N-Out before we headed towards the relatives.
Tuesday - The folks took our relatives to Laughlin. I wanted to get to Disneyland close to when the park opened (8am)...we ended up getting there at around noon.
My cousin used his AP, so we got $30 off our 2 day hopper passes & got free parking. We had a pretty good time in the park. We had some good Chili burgers from Tomy Burgers.
As we were getting in line for Small World, I saw Tom from Blink 182 only a couple people ahead of me. There was an extra space on the boat, but when the loading CM asked me if I was part of their party I said know because they were with security. I tried to snap a picture nonchalantly, but his wife got kinda snippy & asked me not to "do that". I guess it was because they had their kid with them. My friend told me that I should have told him that I was a really big fan & I just wanted a picture with him - hindsight, 20-20...
Wednesday - We hit Del Taco for break/lunch & went to Huntington Beach. It was cloudy for a good part of the day. I learned that my shorts were a little too big the hard way - the waves forced them down. I had to spend the whole time with a hand on my shorts to keep the family jewels from being publicly displayed. After 30 minutes or so, I was done for the day. On the way back we saw a toy store & an adult toy store right next to each other.
Later that night we went to see Pirates again & used my sister's passes at the Block. My cousin & I went to corner bakery & I tried to use my Brinker discount (which I just found out is only good in the general city area you live in) & ended up getting a discount, though it took a good 20 minutes to resolve & I only got 20% instead of 25%. Then my sister & her friend came into eat & she asked my if I could get a discount.
Thursday - I asked if everyone could be ready to go by 8:30 to get to the park at 9 & they all said that we could do it. 2 girls, 1 bathroom...yeah, we didn't get to the park until 10. We went to DL for most of the day. We had a pretty good time. We went to In-N-Out for lunch. We then head for DCA & do Soaring, Animation Tour, California Screamin & get ready for MSEP. I took a ton of pictures but was disappointed that they'd shortened it. We got back on CA Screamin (via fast pass) & were on the ride right as the fireworks were going off (mega-rad). We hit Mullholland Madness & then hopped back over to DL for Matterhorn & Peter Pan (which turned out to be the longest wait we'd see the whole time. We'd missed dinner, so we grabbed some Del Taco on the way home.
Friday - We get up & start packing. My cousin wants to come over & have lunch with us. We have...you guessed it, In-N-Out. My sister polished off 2 double-doubles! I was leaning back in one of the lawn rocking chairs & hit my head on the concrete. I don't know what happened to me, but I felt dizzy & drunk the rest of the day. Our flight was supposed to leave at 3:30, but didn't take off until nearly an hour later. We get back to Dallas & by the time we get to my folks' house it's 10. My dad fixed some steaks for us & I went swimming for a bit. When I got dressed & ready to leave for home around midnight, only I have a flat. I'd filled it a couple days before we left, so I knew I need some fix-a-flat. I ended up spending the night.
Saturday - I get up around 10:30 & head out to fix it. My sister was really hoping to make it to the Warped Tour at 11 (when the gates opened), but I knew that wasn't going to happen. By the time we get ready to go, it's about 1. We didn't get there until about 2. We had a lot of fun there & I enjoyed seeing Tsunami Bomb, The Ataris & Face to Face. Face to Face were signing free posters, so I got mine. My camera's batteries died halfway through, so I didn't get a ton of pics of my favorite bands. Bowling For Soup had a large crowd, but they had their mics screwed up.
The Fat Wreck Chords tent was a disappointment & the whole "Not My President" thing has gotten really old.
I saw this couple I'd talked to at another show in April, which was pretty funny. The Warped media guy wanted to get a picture of me & my "Sanchez" shirt.
Sunday - *sigh* I was back at the daily grind...
