O.K. I'm a San Diegan and very proud of having our own theme park. I went to legoland today and had an absolutely horrible time. It must have been the busiest day of the year. Took forever to walk from where we parked to the front. Waited at least 30 minutes in line just to get our ticket scanned. This was at noon, not first thing in the morning. They stick each ticket in some thing like they have a self parking places. She grabs the ticket out of your hand and does it herself. Guess it's quicker. We head to our first ride, project X 90 minute wait, don't think so. Head to some ride where the kids sit in little boats that has water pop up and squirt you. I waited for the 3 kids, (ages 7, 10 & 11) Not a bad wait. We head to the dragon ride. Similar to Thunder mountain in speed and scare factor. Really short! Not worth the 60 minute wait. After this we head to lunch. It was so hard to follow the map since the park is all twisty. There wasn't one person who could help us. We saw no one!! Very annoying, took forever to find it. We ate lunch at a nice restaurant, typical expensive prices, but better food than most of Disney's places. After that we waited an hour for a ride where I got soaking wet as the other people aim water at you and soak you. The seat are an inch deep in water before you even get on. They don't even try to wipe them. Where the F are you supposed to sit, and you must sit as they insist on it.

By then I was done. People were so rude, there is no magic and I was tired. We went to miniland which is where I could have stayed all day. Eventually my daughter came and rescued me. As I'm leaving by the exit, I trip and fall face forward onto the cement. A very nice father helped me up. I think one of the employees handed me my camera, but if she was an employee she was a crappy one didn't even ask if I was O.K., just a gentle smile. I hope she didn't work there because if she did she was a joke. No one, even though we were by the entrance, came to see if I was O.K. and my fall was pretty spectacular. You know at Disneyland they would have been there in an instant. All this and a $70.00 price tag. No thank you.

Awww, I'm sorry you had a bad day at LegoLand. I hope you are okay from your fall! That's scary when it happens, but can also really cause problems. I hope nothing too severe for you.

I think everything "touristy" is going to be very crowded right now. LL, DLR, SeaWorld, etc... Tis the Season.

I hope you have a nice evening and, again, that you were not hurt.

P.S. I hope you can sneak in a Disney fix soon, but maybe wait until after New Years - when the crowds subside. :wizard:

So far the only "damage" to my body seems to be a sprained foot and sore arms. I really lucked out. I still like disneyland better though.

Yikes, OP, I am sorry you had a bad experience at Legoland. I live 5 minutes from Legoland but have never gone there. We moved to SD in March. My DS' are in their 20's. I did drive over to check it out and when I saw the price I told DH I have no interest in paying THAT amount. Ugh.
I am thinking it was crowded today because this was the first nice day in like 7 days.

I think that has a lot to do with it. The horses are out of the gates now.

I'm glad you enjoyed the food, that's a big plus for Legoland since you found it above standard amusment park fare.

It's a bummer you sprained your ankle but there may be a reason the employee didn't help. I worked at a place where employees were instructed not to ask if someone was ok. You had to ask if someone needed assistance from medical personal. It had to do with liability. If somone says I'm hurt and they say walk it off and then later you go to the hospital with a broken foot. Then you can sue the employee and the company for not assisting you properly. It's pretty screwy, but not everyone is a doctor so they should not act like one. They can put you in a safe place and get help.

I understand that, but no one even offered me a chair or a glass of water. It was very busy due to nice weather and a slew of free tickets given out. That however is no excuse for being poorly run, understaffed, and uncaring. I'm a 60 year old woman so I'm not a spring chicken. The guy who helped me up was really surprised there wasn't more "damage" to my body. I also don't like a fuss being made over me at all and assured the guy I was fine. It just seemed odd no one from legoland at least checked me out. Oh well, it will be a cold day in hell before I go back. It's my third visit and I don't like it any better than the first two visits.
