Disneyland vs Disney World

I'm a huge WDW fan. I did my CP there and have been back several times since. Even honeymooned there. I had my first baby in 2/16 and dreamed of taking him for his first birthday. Unfortunately it didn't work out. I need my Disney fix. I'm hoping to go in 2/18. Money is tight since I'm a stay at home mom now. I'm on the west coast a 2 hr flight from DL, so airfare is much cheaper. I'm torn though since WDW is my home and I really want to do his first haircut there but it's a long flight, no direct ones. So my question is for a 2 year old what would you do DL or WDW? Which has more rides etc that can be enjoyed by a little one? Can we meet Pooh at DL? I feel DL may be better for him, nap wise etc since it's all right there but missing WDW

Personally I would choose DLR just because of the shorter flight time with a toddler. And yes, you can meet Pooh at DL.

DL is great! It's a little different than WDW, maybe a tad less grand, but it makes up for it with charm. It's also a lot easier to get around and park-hop. They have a lot of great attractions that aren't at WDW (anymore for some). I think it's a great choice for a little one. They have all the classic Fantasyland dark rides, plus the Bug's Land at California Adventure. Meet & Greets abound too and are a little easier to do. I think you'd have a great time.

We have been Disneyworld a number of times. I went to Disneyland with my parents for one day and with my immediate family a few years ago.

Keep it simple. Go to Disneyland. It will be cheaper with the flight and likely the accommodations. We stayed at an older motel, Candy Cane Inn, which had a fairly robust continental breakfast. And you can see the backside of rock work for Cars Land.

Use your flight savings to buy park to park passes. Both Cars and Indiana Jones are great rides.

I suggest that you look at some Hydro Guy's posts. I used them when we went a few years ago. And there was a thread on the local hotels with distance, amenities, etc.

Go to Disneyland!! I'm in western Canada and DLR is so simple, I love it! I've done both, but do DLR way more because it's so much closer. Pooh is definitely there, we've met him every trip!
