Disneyland Trip in May 2005

Hello to all. I'm a newbie here and I want to get some info on our first trip to Disneyland. I'll be arriving 5/1 and leaving 5/6 and I'm staying at the Hojo (good rate through mouse savers link) I would appreciate any advice. I'm thinking about a 4 day park hopper and going to Sea World and the movieland wax museum. I want to take the tour Walk in Walts footsteps also. I heard Disneyland will be closed on the 5th, is that true? Any help would be appreciated plus some pictures of the Hojo would be nice. I can't see the ones Mary Jo has put up, all that shows are a red x. My family wants to have a easy, basic, low key Disney vaction, if there is such a thing! We're DisneyWorld veterans but haven't been to Disneyland yet. Once again any help or suggestions would be great!

Yea, the DL park is closed on 5-5 to prep for the big 50th anniversary...therefore, expect TONS of folks at that park on the 6th.

4 day hopper will definitely get you plenty of time to see both parks (CA is open on the 5th).

We've not done HoJo so can't help there.

Disneyland will be closed on the 4th of May, not the 5th. The 5th is when the celebration begins.
I've heard good things about Hojo's. Have only driven by it though. Wow, Movieland Wax Museum, I haven't been there since I was 6. I totally forgot that place even existed.
Walk in Walt's footsteps is a wonderful tour. A friend and I took it a couple of years ago. Even for someone who had been to the park so many times, I did learn a lot.

Yes, DL is closed on May 4th, but DCA will still be open as will DTD, though I think I'd stay away from them that day because they might be extra crowded. Might be a good Sea World day.
