I just got back from a weekend at Disneyland. It was fabulous, of course. I thought I might share some of my observations and experiences.

It was quite crowded this past weekend because of Gay Day and the opening of the Haunted Mansion Holiday. Three major attractions being down didn't help the crowds either. Tomorrowland is looking more like Ghostland these days; there's hardly a reason to go there any more, and the flow of traffic at Disneyland reflects that. West side was incredibly crowded, while East side was sparse. Indy and Fastpass still create a huge bottleneck at Adventureland. There's basically no clear area of the park from the Adventureland entrance all the way to Splash Mountain. There's just a sea of people.

This was my first time on Winnie the Pooh, which replaced the good old Country Bear Jamboree. It's okay, not great. Some of the audioanimatronics already look outdated, which is weird since some of the effects are quite nice. The Heffalumps and Woozles room is, of course, the best part.

The Haunted Mansion Holiday consistently had a two-hour line. On Saturday, Fastpass sold out six hours before the park closed. I love this attraction, and it's nice to see that so many other people do too. It completely caters to me: the Mansion is my all-time favorite attraction and Nightmare Before Christmas is my favorite movie. I'm extremely pleased, to say the least, with what they've done with the Mansion. Actually, I'm utterly enchanted by the whole thing. I can't wait to see it again.

Thanks for the mini trip report.

I too hate the way the crowds get around Jungle Cruise and Indy. I wish they would open up mor of the cues and get those people out of the walk ways. I hate not being able to push a stroller or see the characters in that area and then get in line for the Jungle Cruise and have none of the que area open. Also the Fastpass area for Indy is crazy. It is so hard to figure out which line you are standing in and for what.

I haven't been since Space has been closed down, but I'm sure that helps the East side of the park to be a ghost town. Hopefully that doesn't mean Redd Rockets will close, I love eating there.
