So I am planning to take my first DL trip in April. We would like to take a day 6 trip to Universal Studios. I will be traveling with my entire family, party of 9 and we don't really feel comfortable driving. What is the best way of getting there? TIA

I'd like to know too! We might go in April as well.. not a Disney trip so we will just on one of our days check out Universal. However... if we don't make it that trip we would like to take a trip out to Universal on our Disney trip next July/August and would love to know the best way to get there without a car.

I had my car on my last trip but I just get so anxious and annoyed with LA traffic and road construction that I didnt want to drive it myself so I used southern california greyline shuttles. The shuttles are double decker buses with TV's so you watch a movie while enroute and several seats have a full size table with them and we ate breakfast on them on the way there. They pick you up from your hotel early so you get to US early and then they pick you back up fairly late in the evening so you get a nice long day in the park. I LOVED the wizarding world of harry potter when I was there. Enjoy!

For a party of nine, I'd look into a shuttle of some kind. I'm not a fan of driving LA traffic either.
My grand-daughter wanted to add a day on our October trip to check out USH's WWOHP. When I found out the travel distance and time, I was looking for ways to avoid going to USH. My solution for her was a one-day trip in June.
I found it was less expensive (thanks to air miles) to do a one day trip from PDX to BUR. We had one LONG day, June 7th when we went to USH.
It was well worth it for us to do it this way. The stress of leaving DLR on the Oct trip isn't an issue now. aaaaaaah......

For a party of nine you can schedule a dedicated point to point Suppershuttle which would probably be your cheapest and easiest option that way you can set your own schedule.

I have seen a lot of reporst here that the Universal Shuttle Bus service that runs between DL & US has pretty crappy and limiting hours.

They have a rate calculator on their website.

Maybe take the train? If you've got valid Metrolink train tickets, they can be used to access the connecting public transportation. You' need to take an OCTA bus to the ARCTIC station, take either the Metrolink Orange County line or Amtrak Pacific Surfliner train to LA Union Station, then the LA Metro (light rail) Red line to the Universal/Studio City station. From there, Universal Studios has a free shuttle.

Here's an example. I chose the Hilton Anaheim as the starting point.
