Are the tickets sold on Disneyland's official website discounted from gate prices? It says they are (on the site) but as I look around the internet I'm seeing the same price listed as "gate" price as the price on Disney's site. Let me see if I can explain better.

I want a 5 Day Park Hopper ticket. I'm Disney's site it's $290.00. If I were to go to Disneyland right now to the gates, is it more than that? Or the same price?

I am not positive, but I do know you can order discounted tickets from a company that Moussavers recommends (sign up for their newsletter to save even more).

It's a $5.00 difference from that company. And for that, I'm not really worried about saving the money.

I guess it's more like if the tickets are $290.00 at the park, then I'd just rather buy them when I got there.

Gosh, why on earth would you prefer to wait in line at the parks and waste valuable time when you could just order them online, print them out, and have them instantly? You don't have to go to the ticket booths with online tickets from Disneyland.com, you just take them directly to the turnstiles like any other ticket, they'll scan it instantly, then hand you a card stock ticket that you'll use for the rest of your trip to park hop and get fastpasses.

Sometimes the online price is discounted from the gate price, but it looks like right now, they are the same. I would order them online so that you don't have to wait in line when you get there!

Hmmm, clearly it's hard to interpret tone and inflection through text. I assure you I wasn't trying to be mean. I meant it to be read like an infomercial announcer, lol... "Why spend hours slaving over the stove when you can have this casserole in MINUTES!?!" I was simply clarifying the process in case you weren't familiar with it since I wanted to save you time so you go straight to the parks and start enjoying your day right away instead of waiting 30 minutes in line at a ticket booth :confused3 My apologies for the miscommunication, but I think it was you that wasn't very nice in your response to me :( I was just trying to help.

My response was snotty but it's only because I thought you were "annoyed" with me asking. Unfortunately, I'm not a kill em with kindness person. But you are right, text can always be misinterpreted.

I am sorry for my response.

I do see now that you explained it the informercial aspect of it. Actually kind of made me giggle.

I actually had this huge long response typed out about not knowing how the online tickets worked, and why I didn't mind waiting in line at the ticket booths. So I'll try to sum it up.

On my day of arrival I'm not going to any parks since I'll be waking up at 3 am Eastern time, driving two hours to the airport, and then flying for 7 hours. And then I can't check into my hotel until 3 or 4 pm. So from the time I land in LA (at 10 am Pacific time) until I can check in, I'm going to have this huge chunk of time that I don't know what I'm going to do. So I figured maybe since I'm probably going to DTD that would be a good time to go pick up my park hopper. And if I have to stand in line it won't be that big of a deal because it's not like there is that much to do otherwise.

Now, you might ask me "well since you are getting to LA so early why not go to the parks that day?" Truth is, I don't know how tired I'm going to be and I'm going to be really stressed since I'm flying. So I figured I'd just relax and watch some TV in my room, take a nice hot, long shower and get to bed early.

With that being said, I don't really have a problem getting it early, especially since you explained it a bit more to me. I wasn't sure how a piece of printer paper was going to hold up to all sorts of handling and what not. Plus with my luck, I'll forget my ticket at home. :sad2:

Beckwhy,
I didn't see where you are staying or when you are going to Disneyland. Strolling through Downtown Disney would be fun. I would suggest to get your ticket first thing and to get fastpasses for the rides you would like to go on later in the day. You can take your time and get used to the layout of the parks (with the maps) grab a bite to eat, sit and people watch, and even get on a ride or two. Sometimes the hotels will be ready for you when you get there, so you might be able to check in at 10am. Depending when the parks close, you still will have many hours after a good long nap to go back into the parks and have a great time.
