I was looking for a good Disneyland book to purchase about the history of the park, it looks like Disneyland: Then, Now and Forever is the one to buy. Is it true that it's only available at Disneyland?

DL, DCA, and the World of Disney all have it. It is a great book.

I did a search and the laughing place store sells this book - but Amazon does not. Has anyone ever purchased a book from laughing place or should I wait until I visit Disneyland to buy it?

I was listening to a podcast recently (can't remember which one, tho) and they recommended this book as a must have for disneyholics. I plan on purchasing this next week when I go there. I had gotten similiar books for WDW 25th. They are nice keepsakes.

I bought it and I LOVE it.

It is a hardcover, was $24.95.

It has amazing pictures, showing things that I didn't even know existed at the park over the last 50 years. I had never seen the people movers, the gondolas, the trails, the big rocket ship, and more! It is great to see pictures of it all. It shows what was in each spot in the 50s, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, all the way until now. Some attractions have changed many times, whereas some are the old originals. Neat to see the changes. It also has neat info on costumes, props, etc.. Everything to do with Disneyland is there!:smickey:

I read it in bed all the time, and love it! It is definately a must have for Dis lovers!! :goodvibes

Inside the MAGIC!!!!! PODCAST.

If you want an unauthorized look at Disneyland, "Mouse Tales: A Behind-The-Ears Look at Disneyland" by David Koenig is an interesting read. The author interviewed past and present cast members and got many tales from them, ones the Disney company probably would rather not have been mentioned.

If you'd rather maintain the perfect vision that Disney presents to the public, then skip this book and stick with the authorized versions.

You can also get park exclusive merchandise by calling Disneyland's DeliverEars Department at (800) 362-4533.

I got this book last September and love it.

Disneyland: Then, Now, and Forever is a terrific book. Very informative and enjoyable for all Disneyland fans. For those who have been visiting Disneyland for several years, the book will bring back a lot of memories. Seeing the pictures of the State Fair and 1950s Retro Party reminded me of the corresponding commercials that aired on southern California TV when I was a kid.

Should I buy the book now and read prior to our first trip to Disneyland or wait and buy it there? Thanks!

It was such a good book! i live in arizona and it's an 8 hr drive, so i read it all the way home! lol :flower1:

I was kinda wishing I had read it first. But then I would have spent too much time going "oh that used to be the ______" or, "This attraction opened in 1971, blah blah blah..." !! (but that is just me!!!)
I think either way is fine.
Just make sure you get it for sure!!
I also bought the big map ($5) and it is cool to see DL from the Aerial view too!
:)
