x-posted as suggested: We are going to Disneyland in November. We are so excited!
Anyway, I've always been a HUGE proponent of bringing your own stroller for a number of reasons (that I won't bombard you with now) when going to DL or WDW and have always But, when we go, my daughter will be 3.5. She doesn't "fit" in her stroller at home now, we tend to use our wagon. Unlike the strollers of past days, the wagon isn't something we could bring with us on the plane and take with us.
I don't want to spend all our time having to carry our daughter. She's very large for her age. How are the strollers at Disneyland for older kids? Are they large enough? Do they have enough leg room? They don't have wagons there, do they?
Thanks!

I don't know the answer to all your questions, however I do think I remember reading at the Disney website that wagons or pull vehicles of any kind are not allowed within the Resort, so I wouldn't think they have wagons to rent.

My DD will have just turned 2 (within a week) when we go in September so I was wondering about the strollers as well, like do the strollers for rent have a sun canopy or any kind sun protection?

It would be great if someone here has a picture of what the strollers look like that they might be kind enough to post.

Hope you and your family have a magical time when you go :wizard: .

We rented a stoller two weeks ago for my 7-year old daughter midway thru the day when she got tired. It was large enough for her. She's about fifty pounds, so I assume your 3.5-year old would be fine.

Oh yeah, they will be plenty big enough for her. They almost look like a jogging stroller with a canopy to block the sun. The line up for the strollers were always so long though.

Never did see a wagon or anything of the sort.

How much are the stroller rentals? And do they have a double one? Does anyone have a picture of the strollers? Thanks.

The stroller costs $7.00, and unfortunately Disneyland does not provide double strollers. When we went last week my 9 year old started complaining about his feet hurting, so we rented him a stroller (yes I know he's too old, we're not planning on doing that again!) He weighs about 60-65lbs so that shows you how acommodating they are. My 4 year old loves their strollers so much that we just don't even bother packing her stroller. It leaves more room in the car for the trip anyway! :earboy2:

When we were there I ended up renting a stroller for my almost 5 year old (at her request, we don't even own one anymore) It was great, big enough for her and she loved the sun shade. First, get there early so you don't have a hugh line and second take a small scarf or piece of material and tie it on the handle, this way you can find it in a sea of strollers and no one will mistake it for their's. It worked great. Also you can turn it in, keep your reciept and get another later that day at DL or at CA. Have a great trip.

Just a reminder - If you are a Disney Visa cardholder, you get free stroller rentals (up to 2 per day)!
I figure this will save us $40 over our stay, which leaves more $ for churros and Dole Whips!
I also know firsthand from WDW that the Disney strollers are just SO easy to push around.
I can usually push one with just one hand and hold a Mickey Bar with my other!
(Are we noticing a big food theme going here? I just know I'll come back from our trip weighing 10 lbs. heavier!)
Our DD4 weighs just 36 lbs., so she's a little squirt and I know there will be plenty of room for her.
But I've also seen much older children in the strollers, so I'm sure your daughter will do just fine in one.
I also second the scarf/bandanna idea.
At WDW, the CMs are terrible about repositioning strollers while you're on a ride or in a show.
I've heard that at DL, they're not as bad, but since all the rental strollers look the same,
save yourself some headache and use something to identify yours.
I don't want to have to play "Where's the stroller" 20 times a day!
Enjoy planning for your trip in November!
We're under a week now before we leave ... and we couldn't be more excited!
A tired 4 yr old is not what I want to deal with, so it's off to stroller rental each morning for us!
Happy trip planning! :)

A single stroller at Disneyland is $8 (last time I checked). They do have double strollers, and they will run you $15. Laughing Place has stroller photos: http://laughingplace.com/Info-ID-DLGuide-Visit-Amenities.asp all though I am not sure if Disneyland still has both types (the three wheel and the four wheel). I didn't pay that close attention, but they all seemed to be the three wheel jogger style that I could remember. I couldn't find a picture of the double stroller.
Hope this helps!

Sorry, the stroller rental is $8.00, however I have never seen a double stroller there. The Disneyland website only mentions the single strollers. I forgot to mention that when you rent a stroller now at either Calif. Adventure or Disneyland, you can take the stroller you rented across to the other park now (obviously only if you are park hopping). They have Downtown Disney closed off somewhat since that's where one of the bagchecks is. And the other bag check is facing Harbor Blvd. It was nice to not have to worry about having to change strollers so much.

batraylover-

Thanks so much for the link to the stroller photo. That is exactly what I had wanted to see. Since we use a jogging stroller at home all the time, I'm sure my DD 2 will feel right at home in the one from Disney. I am especially glad to see that the strollers have such a large sun canopy. I have two kids who are complete tow heads, so I tend to be more than a bit neurotic about sun protection (I slather all three of my kids with sunscreen everytime we go outside, even in cloudy weather. )

Thanks for the info on tying a scarf or ribbon on the stroller for easier ID. I have done that for years with our luggage, but it makes sense for the strollers as well.

We just got back from DL and the cost was $8.00 and they DO NOT have double strollers. We got one mainly to carry our stuff, but my 7 yr old used it and fit very comfortable in it and she's about 50lbs and pretty tall. There were even times when my 11 yr old wanted to hop in, LOL. They say up to 75 lbs.
