Disneyland secrets?

Lildreamer101 and WebmasterMaryJo: as I recall, Bart Simpson had a similar problem when he sold his soul to Milhouse for $5. For example, after Bart sold his soul, the automatic door opener at the Kwik-E-Mart stopped working for him.

I suggest you each take a look in a mirror. If you can't see your reflections, then you are both probably in very serious trouble. If you can see your reflections, then the apple is probably just broken.

I dont know every location you can get these from but we got ours from the GCH since we were staying there. You can get scavenger hunt maps for POC, Finding Nemo, and Small World. Then when you turn them in you get some sort of prize. I never finished mine since we kept forgetting the scavenger hunt questions at the hotel! Also there are plenty of things in Toontown that make noises like man hole covers when theyre stomped on, telephones that you can pick up and boxes that open and make noises. Also I hear you can get a map of the Jungle Cruise ride if you ask. I can't wait to get a pickle next time I go! My SO loves pickles.

It hasn't worked for me in the past few trips I tried it, either. When Snow White sings at her grotto, the song comes from her, and the echo comes from the well.

I figured the apple didn't work for me was because a lot of kids around who were jumping up, grabbing it, shaking it, and over using it? Maybe?
I heard singing near the grotto but not in the well. I wonder why?
BTW, Thanks!

Thanks for pointing this out. I'm retired now, but my working life consisted of developing computer databases for survey control applications for a couple of Canadian Provinces. As such, I'm always interested when I stumble across a survey control marker at Disneyland, particularly a marker with an image of the castle on it. I'm actually more interested in this spike as a survey control marker, than if it was some sort of symbolic golden spike marking the centre of Disneyland. I'll definitely have to make it a point to take a look at the marker during my next trip in August.

Around 1984 or so, a survey engineer co-worker of mine returned from a conference in California, and mentioned that many surveyors/engineers had the hobby of trading/collecting survey control markers. He said that the survey control markers provided by the engineer from the City of Anaheim were in hot demand because of the castle images that appeared on them.

Reepicheep, I have to admit that I haven't checked for all of the survey markers in DL/DCD...some are well camouflaged. Could be a new type of hunt around the parks... a variant of hidden mickeys...

Actually, it appears we are late to joining the "spot the survey marker" party.

After I read your first post, I did a google search for DISNEYLAND SURVEY CONTROL MARKERS and discovered that these hidden mickeys are already well known. As a former survey professional and Disneyland fan, I am embarrassed not to have known this. Here are a couple of links which I more or less picked at random:
