Disneyland Resort Picture of the Day #5!!

We had an earthquake earlier tonight that made me jumpy and nervous. I thought, "I hate hot weather and I hate quakes -- someone tell me why I live in Los Angeles again? Oh yeah! That's right...Disneyland! Disneyland is why I live in Los Angeles!":rotfl2:

So, to get my mind off of my nerves, I decided to do one of my swoop in/drive by/once-in-a-blue-moon photo posts in this thread while admiring everyone's recent, fantastic contributions!

This is not a particularly exciting picture, nor is it a typically pretty picture, but for some reason I like it anyway. (The reason it has a frame on it is because it is destined to end up in one of my future photo projects, such as a book or collage or calendar or something.)

From June 2012...

I have a slightly larger version of this photo, for which I thought I was copying the link, but I guess I grabbed the smaller version by mistake. Oh well! I am very tired and have "quake brain" at the moment, so I cannot be expected to think clearly!:rotfl2:

Sherry, I'm so glad it wasn't serious. That must have been really scary. So glad your love of Disney got you through! :goodvibes

Good news to hear that the earthquake last night in SoCal was not that serious Sherry.

Great shots these last few pages everyone! I haven't had a computer for a week, so I'm glad to be back. (no big deal, just did some painting so I had to put it away).

Sherry, I'm glad the earthquake wasn't serious. I would have been terrified. I try not to think about it when I'm at DL, but I can imagine I would actually be petrified if it happened while I was there.

Uh oh... Flickr changed and I hope I am copying the picture right!

Sigma 10-20, so effectively 16mm. Really like this lens, but wish I would have waited and got the Tokina 2.8.

I actually had the Tokina. Then I decided I wanted the added range of the Canon 10-22. I thought I'd be willing to have it on my camera more, walking around the parks. So I tried it, and I really didn't. I found I used it a lot indoors and really wanted that 2.8 back. So I sold it and bought a Tokina back again. I still don't use it a lot but love it for certain shots. Just like your Walt shot. Great perspective there! :thumbsup2

Love this thread! I finally got a Photobucket again so I will be joining back in! Going to DLR in 4 days so I will have even more to add. :goodvibes

Yeah, I was thinking of certain dark rides where it would come in handy, I get frustrated with the 50 prime at times. I try to make a point of leaving the 10-20 on for a hour or so during the day just to get some different angles and perspectives, mostly dropping the camera, so I don't even know what I am getting until I get home and look on the computer. Get lucky every once in while.

That's beautiful! And that's the one ride I especially loved having the Tokina. (It's bright enough in there that 2.8 will do the trick). I took one whole trip through with that lens last December and got some of my favorite shots from the trip.

Thanks, Mike!

Janet, you really are a bad influence on me! I bought the 17-55 2.8 mainly because of you, and I have the Sigma 10-20, but I've been finding it slow. Now I'm going to have to look and see if I can find some pictures you've taken with your Tokina, because I've been thinking about it anyways. pirate:

Oops, sorry about that! :)

These might have been posted earlier in this thread. I just don't remember. But since you are looking, I'll put them here:

Looks great wide and with the 2.8!

Thanks Mike! I had the Canon 10-22 on our 2012 Disney trip and was disappointed time and time again at not having that 2.8. It just wasn't a good match for what I like to use a wide angle for.

I really have my eye on the Sigma 18-35 f/1.8 right now. I'm hoping to be able to get the funds together to add that to my kit before our trip this year.

I agree with Mike, Janet! And since I have the Sigma that I can sell, that helps with the offset of the cost. Plus I want another tripod, something smaller that I'll actually use. Mine is bulky and I rarely take it anywhere. I use it for taking my before/after pictures when I start a diet! Hahahahaha

Those really are great shots. Thanks for sharing! :upsidedow And no need to apologize. I'd rather get information from here, where I feel like I can trust someone rather than complete strangers, if you know what I mean?

And since this is the POTD thread, I'll post something from POTC!
