Hello, fellow disney fans:D!!! I'm staying at the Disneyland Paradise Pier Hote, and I was wondering, since we are renting a car, do we have to pay for self-parking at the hotel ( we are already paying enough for the room:animwink: )?? Also, is it the same was WDW, as long as you are staying at one of the onsite resorts, do you have to pay for parking at the theme parks as well?? How far is Paradise Pier from the parks??

Thanks!!!

I believe self-parking at the hotel is included in your resort fee.

It's a bit of a walk, but if you cut through the Grand Californian, you'll cut a lot of it out.

You won't want to repark to go to the parks as I think then you might have to pay (and it defeats the purpose of staying onsite to use the theme park parking--DLR is much, much smaller than WDW--everything is within walking distance). You should either walk through the GC to go to DCA or walk (cutting through the GC) or take the monorail into DL.

One of the sticky topics at the top of the forum has this link, which shows you just how close PP is to everything.

A friend of ours staying at the GC said that they were charged for parking even though they didn't have a rental car, which didn't sound right, but be assured you'll be charged if you do have a car. And as iceskatejen said, you can take a shortcut through the GC to get to the entrance esplanade. Be sure to linger by the fireplace!

We were just there last week. Stayed at PP with a rental car. Parking is included in your resort fee (the fee also includes other things for the person who stated that they were charged a "parking" fee even though they didn't have a car). Every day, we crossed the street and walked thru the Grand Californian (there are signs pointing the way) and out thru Downtown Disney and to the parks. It is a very short walk. You end up at the gate for DL or the gate for DCA.

I think the current cost is $11 per day you are charged in addition to your room cost. It is listed as "resort fee" or somthing like that. It covers self-parking and ????. Personally I would rather they just give the room price as $11 more and then say you are getting free parking. The price would be the same, but at least you feel like you are getting more for your money!

You will not need your car once at the resorts. Everything is within walking distance.
