Disneyland Resort Hotels Pool Refurbishment planned & pool hopping?

Hello, is there a way to determine the pool refurbishment schedule at the Disneyland Hotels?
We are trying to decide whether or not to stay at PP, GCH, or the DLH, do the pools close for refurbishment in september or october?
If so, is there a posted schedule?
Also, can you pool hop to one of the other pools if you are a guest of either of the hotels?

Both the PPH & DLH had their pools refurbished last year, so I doubt they would go through another for the next few years. GCH, not sure when they are scheduled. Usually it seems like they do them during Jan-Feb, but I could be wrong on that.

No you cannot pool hop between the resort hotels, unless the pool in the resort hotel you are staying at is under some kind of shutdown. Then, they do allow you access to the other pools, but again only on a limited basis until your pool is back up and running.

That is the officially correct answer; however, CMs at both PPH and DL Hotel have told me that if somehow you room key accidentally gets put into the other hotel's pool fence card reader that you will gain entry. I have not personally tried this, but this is just what I have been told when staying at PPH when the pool was not being refurbished.

Please note that I have also been told that this does not work at the GCH or with the GCH's room keys in the other pools.

Swimming at DL and pool hopping just isn't the big deal it is at WDW. There are not different levels of resorts at DL whereas WDW has value, moderate and deluxes and most pool hoppers are staying value (or offsite) and want to sneak into the pools at the deluxes. I suppose the PPH pool isn't quite as 'fancy' as DLH or GCH but it just isn't as big of a thing to west coasters. I can't imagine bothering unless the pool at my resort was closed, then they direct you to one of the other hotels.

There is no set refurb schedule for the pools. They only close if there is a big overhaul that needs to be done.
