Disneyland Reopening Speculation Superthread

It will be our first trip to DL / DCA. I'm not sure where we will head once we enter the parks. I kind of want to run to Incredicoaster because that is the ride that my daughter is most apprehensive about doing so it would be nice to do it first, and then we'll know if she either loves it or hates it. For Disneyland, I don't know...there are so many rides that WDW doesn't have that DL does. Matterhorn, Indy, a better version of BTMR. I might just get scanned in at the gates and then take a minute or two just to breathe and be happy to be there.

"Soon" just does not work very well anymore. Calendar year end is getting closer and closer, some of us have vacation hours we will lose at end of year. Kept our November dates hoping Disneyland would be open and now there is no open weeks for me to switch to on the work calendar through end of year. Oregon is much closer to Disneyland we do not have to schedule 2 entire days just for flights like we need for Disney World. With the airlines having to deal with the pandemic there are limited direct flights from PDX to MCO currently.

Currently looking for a great deal for Disney World.

Whenever I get back, definitely Peter Pan and then Pirates.

My favorite part is Disney’s website has been saying that reopening information and reservation system details are “coming soon” since June I don’t think Disney knows what soon means. I feel like later date is as accurate as it can get.

This makes me miss early mornings in DLR. When Matterhorn is Single Rider walk on, cool crispness to the air that makes me regret picking the light jacket, total lack of people on the walkways, monorail whizzing by every once in a while... So peaceful, and the sound of the Matterhorn ties it all together

They caught me off guard, so I told them I would call back. I am at work, DH is at home and we needed to talk about it first.

Thinking of moving to beginning of October...but hoping some kind of announcement this week. The CM did confirm that our rate would only be honored until 9/30 (we were originally booked at the DLH, then moved to GCH). We are totally ok with moving back to the DLH, but I would prefer to keep the rate I had originally in June-before the cheaper rate kicked in. I doubt they would do that...

They called me either last week or the week before to talk about our 9/6 reservation. It made me so mad that the discounted rate isn’t being honored after 9/30. We also Originally had booked the DLH and would’ve been happy to move back. I canceled.

My kids think I’m not going to let them ride MFSR when it opens.... too much touching.

My four year old FINALLY made it to 40” over the closure, so I think we will head to BTMRR first. It’s my nine year olds favorite and one we can all do together. And we will definitely use our special Cars fast pass they gave us almost a year ago to ride Radiator Racers.

Tues and still no announcement... It really irks me they’re cancelling with no announcement. This puts Disney’s booking partners (travel agencies, wholesalers, etc) in an awful spot as they look completely incompetent to their clients

DL; Peter Pan because it's our 1st ride tradition.
DCA; We don't really have a tradition for DCA. Probably the one we can get the earliest MP for or has the shortest line at opening. If I had to pick, probably Soarin'. A few years ago it would have been ToT for sure. But, time marches on......sigh.

I’m starting to become extremely frustrated. I mean if Newsom has told them “too bad, so sad” they need to admit it.

I called last night and moved to early October. I didn't get the same rate-which stinks-but they said I would still get the $50 a night room credit. Which I had NO IDEA I had. I had heard other mention it, but assumed I didn't because no one ever told me! So that was a nice surprise. I did ask for my original rate when I booked our June trip wayyyyyy back in February...but did not get that.


As for firsts, hmmm. At DL I think I will cry when I walk in first thing. LOL. Then probably head to our usual, Space Mountain! And we for sure want to attempt to get on ROTR. We have been waiting to ride that for so long and it is getting harder and harder to avoid spoilers!

At DCA, probably Guardians or RSR first.

I agree with others that have concerns about going to WDW. I am just really concerned about the flights being cancelled, or my 2 year old being difficult and not wanting to wear a mask on the plane. Flying was stressful with kids before the pandemic. DL is much easier for us because we can drive there. I am personally getting frustrated that CA remains the most shut down of any state (Oregon being similar to us.)

I’m starting to become extremely frustrated. I mean if Newsom has told them “too bad, so sad” they need to admit it.

I think if Newsom said this it would be annouced publicly.
