Hi,

we were in DLP 2 times this year - but have never been able to take the Disneyland Railroad :sad2: . So we'd like to try it next Monday :yay: ! Could anyone please tell me when the Railroads opens? As far as I know, they do not the EMH, do they?

Thanks in advance!

I think it opens when the park officially opens, but not all the stations are open during off peak times & it does not run during the parade.

whenever we've wanted to go on it, we've just had to stand in a little queue for 5 mins or so and then jump on. we've never had a problem with it being closed, even in the winter months but perhaps thats just luck
definitely do it it tho, its great fun

Only 5 minutes waiting time and no queues? Lucky you! Everytime we arrived (really early in the morning just after official opening or around lunch time or in the evening) there were always long queues for about 60 minutes. And waiting so long it's no fun with a 3 year old :sad2: ...

Hope, we have more luck next week :yay: ! We definitely want to do this railroad thing!

The queues at Main Street always look very long, but are much sorter at other stations.

But do you think we have a chance to hop on the railroad at another station? Will the railroad not be very crowdy? I think most of the people will take the round trip, won't they?

I found the queue's to be about 10-15 minutes this past weekend, which really surprised me, I've never had to wait for a second train to come at WDW-FL. You wait for the next train to come and you always get on. It may be because the train seating is configured so differently, you can't get as many people on the one in Paris. Also, I got on in the hopes of cooling off - the movement in the open air but was disappointed to find there was glass enclosing all the open spaces making it hotter in the train then walking around. Overall, very disappointing.

Exactly the same for us.....no matter what station we got on at too.

The train tends to run between 12:30 and 5 except during parades :confused3 This really annoys me as it used to run all day long.

Best place to hop it is usually Fantasyland or Discoveryland.

The load issues is due to the fact they only tend to run 2 or 3 of the 5 trains as a cost saving measure, whereas WDW and DL use all their rolling stock unless under refurb.

As for the glass, it is a necessary evil. DLP is bitterly cold half the year, and cool for a quarter. The glass is so you don't freeze to death on the train. Believe you me 20 degree F rides on the train would not be pleasant ith the train were open to the elements.

:thumbsup2 I see, didn't think about that. It figures I was there when it was 20 degrees Celsius. Too bad they can't remove them or at least have windows that could open.

Wish it was that little in the summer. Main St was posting times of 45mins for trains :confused3
When we were there last week we only used the train once - we got on in Frontierland and there was barely a queue, we just waited for the next train and hopped on.
