Disneyland Railroad Toy

Grandma bought DS(3) the Disneyland Railroad model train for the holidays. Needless to say, he thought it was "awesome!", and was his favorite gift. $75 later...it worked for a couple of hours the first day (complete with real smoke coming out of the funnel...how cool is that?!), and then did not work at all on Day 2. Seriously. And even better is that The Disney Store (online) no longer has the item, so they can only give us a refund and not an exchange. My son is crushed.

When we stayed at GCH in September, they had the train in the gift shop. I know they also had it somewhere on Main St, as I saw a little boy holding one of the giant train boxes. He appeared to have a really good grip on it, or I might have tried to swipe it from him

Anyway, if and DIS-ers happen to see this item when strolling through the parks in the near future, could you please post and let me know? It might be worth a trip just to go get another one. Here's what it looks like:

We were there from Dec 18 - 26 and I remember seeing it in the shop connected to the Emporium and I think even in World of Disney but I could be wrong on that one. I really wanted to get it for my son but DH said he was already getting enough stuff for Christmas. Good luck finding it!!

I saw that when we were there in October in one of the shops on Main Street. In fact, my son almost got that toy, but switched to the monorail instead (which has a huge enough track that we set it up under our Christmas tree this year!). I hope that you can find another one for your son...mine is a train lover too so I totally get it!
