I am so excited my family is planning a trip to Disneyland for January 19- 23, 2017. I have been one time and this will be my families first trip. We've been to Disney World over and over and we love it. I feel like after visiting Disneyland that at least one trip to Disneyland is a must for every Disney lover. I cried so many happy tears on my trip last April. Our kids are 16 and 14 and we have so many wonderful vacation memories and most of them have been at some type of Disney resort or Disney trip. I thought so much about Walt Disney on my last trip how much he has impacted my families vacations. I can't wait to make this trip with my family. Our cast of character is my husband and our two kids age 16 and 14. I can't wait to see what they think of Disneyland after making so many trips to Disney World.

Right now our big choice is deciding between Disney's Grand Californian and the Disneyland Hotel. I love them both. We are DVC members and on a waitlist for DGC right now.

If you feel yourself becoming so overwhelmed by happiness that you are reduced to crying, just try to focus on how much the whole trip is costing you!

Actually, don't do that. You'll be crying either way, at least happy crying is more tolerable.

I think your kids are going to love DL/DCA. There is so much stuff packed into the two parks that we hate leaving after our 5 days.

Have a great trip!

Thanks guys!!! I loved it so much in April and I am excited to go back. On my last trip I did the Walk in Walt's Footsteps it was wonderful.

They are both GREAT hotels. My personal opinion, and others have said this as well, is that the Grand Californian hotel is a better choice when you have teenagers. But DL hotel is still fun, and less money for sure. Good luck whatever you decide and have a great trip.
