Only bring room key, sunglasses, book. I stick them under the towel and try to keep a half an eye on them. The worst that could happen is someone steals my room key and makes a purchase (but Disney is supposed to check IDs against the room key) other than that they'd be really disappointed in my $15 scratched up Target sunglasses or my dog eared book of the day.

Fwiw I've never had anyone take my stuff, but I would still never bring my phone to the pool.

Leave them in a bag on a chair. I have a waterproof pouch for my phone and wear it around my neck. They are cheap on Amazon and make them for all different sizes of phones. They are 100% waterproof and you can still use the phone through the plastic pouch.

Or just leave your phone in the room safe while you are at the pool.
