I always enjoy the Disneyland podcasts, but I just wanted to say this week Nancy did a great segment about visiting Walt's grave at Forest Lawn. On top of it being really interesting hearing about Forest Lawn, which apparently isn't really like a "regular" cementary at all, the segment was really moving. I highly recommend giving it a listen. :thumbsup2

I second this. I absolutely loved visiting Forest Lawn this summer; it's something I always dreamed of doing. Walt's burial site was overwhelming at one point. Soft music is playing and it is a very private area. I immediately teared up. Nancy's last paragraph of the blog could not be more true.

I really would like to go back and spend more time at Forest Lawn one day. It has a lot to offer and is very serene.

As always, great job, Nancy! :thumbsup2

I feel guilty saying it, but I just can't get into the Disneyland Podcast. Its just not the same. I can't relate to the experiences and it just doesn't do it for me. I don't know, maybe I'll give it a try again. With the DIS being a bit more infrequent these days maybe it will be something I can use to fill the void. No offense to the Disneyland Podcast Crew. I'm sure there are many in CA who feel the same way about the Disney World Show.

No offense at all! :)

In fact, you hit the nail on the head. There are so many west coast DISers that don't listen to the WDW show, for the same reason. It was nice to finally be able to give something back to them that they could relate to.

I'm the only one of the DL team that really started out with a WDW-only experience, having been born and raised in the midwest, so you can imagine my surprise when I moved out to CA and found out people had NO interest/desire to go to WDW. Too inconvenient, why would we fly to the other coast?

It's amazing how like-minded people are, when they are also different!

I can understand your point of view here. I didn't originally listen to any of the coverage on the podcast cruises because I was unable to go due to my work schedule. I still may not have heard everything. With that being said, I have to admit that I really like listening to the DL episodes because of the differences between WDW and DL. There's also a lot of history in the DL park and that's fun to hear about. The most recent episode talks about Walt Disney's burial site and the history behind the cemetery. I found it fascinating. Give it a try. You might enjoy it! ;)

Guilty as charged, Nancy! I grew up in San Diego (still live in CA) and have almost no interest in going to WDW. (Too far away and inconvenient, you're correct!) That doesn't stop me from enjoying the DIS Orlando podcast.

And thanks, Disneyland DIS Unplugged team, for the enthusiastic reviews of park activities. I especially enjoyed the show about the Halloween party. I'm thinking about it for next year.
