Hello, first time going to Disneyland and a little confused on the Photopass situation and what’s free and what you have to pay for. I bought my 4 day park hopper tickets in January (for my March trip) so not sure if I get the ride attraction photos for free since I purchased it too soon? I assume all non-ride photos (like character photos) are not free and you have to pay for those. It looks like Pre-paying for a one week Photopass is $78 but I don’t want to pay for something if it’s free.

As far as I know there are no free Photopass pictures anywhere. At DLR all photopass pictures are included when you purchase Genie+, at WDW only attraction pictures are included starting March 20.

I don't even think you can prepay for photopass at DLR for a week since the max number of days a ticket can have is 5.

EDITED TO ADD:
Seems I missed some news! Kender below has all the info tho.

Attraction PhotoPass photos at DLR are currently free with paid admission. Was announced early January as part of the Disney 100 celebration. Started Feb 4 and runs the length of the celebration.

And you used to be able to get a one week PhotoPass in advance even with only 5 day length tickets. If it still exists, it's not easy to find anymore (although it is still mentioned on a FAQ page). The one day is still on the PhotoPass page, though, but that's bought through the app day by day.

Fun! I totally missed that. Good to know in case fam doesn't want Genie+ this year.

@MinBz you are correct, the attraction photos are now included for all guests: https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/b...s-to-offer-guests-more-value-and-flexibility/

Photopass is included with Genie+ or you can purchase the week-long $78 Photopass, as you mentioned, if you want photographer pictures such as the castle or characters.

Hope that's helpful, enjoy your trip!
Where exactly do you go to get the week long pass? I can't find it anywhere, must be buried deep.

Stupid question but if I but this photopass + one week does the one week start once I use it. My husband is afraid to purchase the photopass in advance in case that one week period starts now or something
