This month, Disney is releasing an open-edition pin collection for Disneyland Annual Passholders. The set "unlocks the magic" by featuring lock-inspired pins themed for beloved attractions such as Sleepy Beauty Castle, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, Haunted Mansion, and more. Each pin features a keyhole and a metallic symbol of the attraction.

Similarly, January also features the release of the pin in the Lost Keys of Disneyland set. Each pin is an oversized key to one of the attractions in the "Unlock the Magic" set mentioned above. Using a special clasp, the keys can "lock" to those pins featuring the corresponding attraction.

The official release dates for all pins will be available on DisneyPins.com.

I think that these pins are great additions to those sold. I love the coloring and the "lock and key" themeing. What do you think of the new pins? Should they only be available to Disneyland Passholders or other guests as well?

Those are gorgeous!!

I think, myself, that they should be available to everyone. Could you imagine how much more they would sell of them! A lot of people are into the either "steampunk" thing or like keys just in general.

But so pretty!!

Most of the Annual Passholder only things I've seen haven't been that neat...these are one of the few things that look pretty nice to me. That said, the keys seem to be rather integral pieces to the pins. I can't tell; are they selling the pins separately or as one set? I think they'd be better off just selling each pin with its key, together. IMO most of the pins look rather ordinary without their fancy keys.

I wish passholders could order these online. We won't be in DL until Fall 2012.

DD and I will be getting our first APs and will be down next week. We're in LOVE! How do we go about getting them?

I think they are selling the keys separately, at least according to what I saw on another thread on the DIS (sorry, I can't seem to find it). It looks like they will be selling a key every couple of months if I remember correctly which kinda bites for those APs who can't go every month that they are being offered. If you look closely at the pictures, you can see that there is a chain that you can link the key with the attraction.

Eeee-va, I just wanted to say that I LOVE your new avatar!!! Very cute!

Oh, a new key every months...that's even worse than just selling them separately. :headache: But Disney does seem to focus on their local APs, not the ones who buy it and visit 2-3 times/year.

And thank you about the avatar! It's a beautiful ornament I got on my last trip in November. Though I should probably be changing it back to the old one soon now that Christmas is over. It should probably be a seasonal offering. :flower3:

Anyone know how much the pins are? Going next weekend and considering getting the set. Of course, I don't know how I'm going to get the rest of the keys - guess I'll have just have to make more trips than we originally planned! :rotfl2: (or take the easy way out and ask a local friend to buy the rest of the keys for me.)

ETA: Just found out the main set is $55! Each key is 11! Hmmm, will have to think this one over.

The link above showed the locks being sold as a set for $54. I'd rather buy the ones I want individually. There was one key I saw that was sold alone. I wasn't clear if there would be more keys or just one. They are cute. I guess I can get a key when I go in July, but I don't want to spend all that money at once on a pin set. DH doesn't notice so much when it is just $6-$10 here and there. ;)

Agreed. I wish I could just buy the castle & the Ariel ones. However, don't think DH will let me spend that much money on a whole set of pins, of which, two I only really want.

Oh, those are wonderful!!! If they open it to non-passholders, I am all over that. I don't think that it is unreasonably priced for what it is.

I agree they set not being unreasonably priced. Just wish you didn't have to buy the whole set.
