Disneyland Park Opening

The Magic Kingdom has a park opening show in the morning. Does Disneyland do anything? Suggested time for us to arrive at the park gates?

As far as I know, DL doesn't do any park opening shows (except on special occasions or special event mornings). The turnstiles open (anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes) before park opening and guests are held on Main Street until the park opens.

They pick a random family to go through the gates - they announce the name of the family and where they are from - then they count down from 10 and at the end of the countdown they get everyone to yell "Let the magic begin.." and then people go through the turnstiles. Same thing in DCA except it's "Let the adventure begin..."

The opening is pretty disappointing compared to MK. I remember watching them count down from 10 and thinking, "Is that it?"
