Disneyland Paris question?

Hi everyone - I have a friend who will be visiting DLRP with us next April. Her son has severe ADHD issues. When we went to WDW this past year, we obtained a GAC for him. While he did fine for most of the trip without it...there were some instances where it was helpful, especially being able to use the handicapped entrance to avoid the many many people in line for rides like Haunted Mansion and Pirates - the "herding" lines seem to cause the most anxiety for him.

My question is - Does DLRP have something similar to a GAC? We're thinking that being surrounded by people speaking a different language may be stressful enough for him, so avoiding the herding type lines might be a necessity.

If they do have something similar, will she have any issues obtaining it? The CM's at WDW obviously were/are able to understand his issues, I'm concerned about a communication problem.

Thanks Lisa - I read thru that thread & the ones linked to it. I guess the best thing to do would be to have her bring a letter from her doctor or psychiatrist in this case, and re-evaluate once we get there. I think part of ths problem is simply unfamiliar territory which while WDW once was, no longer is.

Anyone else have any other ideas/pointers?

hiya,

we have done DLRP several times with joe who is autistic. At DLRP they have a blue card 'carte bleu' for disabled guests. you have to have proof of disability in order to get the blue card and it enables you to use the fast pass queue for attractions with fastpas otherwise it allows you to use the exit. at the walt disney studios at paris they have a green card 'carte vert'. most of the queue lines here are wheelchair accessible so the green card is only for those with disabilities that mean they cannot cope in the mainstream lines eg ASD/ADHD.

we have always had a wonderful experience at DLRP and the blue card makes it all possible.

Thanks everyone! My friend doesn't post here (even though I've tried to encourage her to!)...I've printed out both the PM's & the infor here..so she can get what she needs together. I really don't know how people ever go to any disney park without the DISboards! I feel so much better prepared...no matter what the issue.

I will be going to Paris next week...and just assumed that a DLA letter would be proof enough of disability, but noticed that on the site it specifies that a signed dr letter be produced...its too late for that now, so wondered if anyone had any luck with just a DLA letter ?

yes we have used a DLA letter every time we have visited. last time was new year 2007/8. hth

It says on the website that disabled people get a discount at DLP does anyone know how much this will be ?
