Hi guys first time we are going to disneyland paris :)

Myself, partner and 2 children (4 and 2) are going at the end of october for 5 nights. The trip has all been paid for and includes breakfast.

I have read a lot on the internet and was wondering how much on a budget could we expect to spend in euros per day on food and drink etc. ?

We certainly wont be eating in the "posh" restaurants but would like a fairly up to date estimate on what were likely to need without ruining the fun !

Thanks in advance

Drinks are about ¬3-4 in the parks, trick is to buy them in the station or take your own if possible.

Food varies of where and hat you like to eat

I have 2 children aged 4 and 7 and im budgeting between 100-150 euros per day for our trip next year. We usually eat at rainforest cafe, cafe mickey, plaza gardens, Annette's and maybe at the hotel once. We load up at breakfast and then take snacks and drinks for the kids for the day. My wife and i might have a hot dog and a drink during the day which is around the 8euros each mark and that keeps us going until our evening meal. And if shes been a good girl i might even spoil her with a cream cake or a biscuit as a treat for her. :-)

Just a thought price up your trip again some dates are now including free dining.. It may work out cheaper for you to upgrade your trip a bit and get the free dining.
If not EOS not bad priced
McDonalds
Annette's do a cheap meal deal
I like the cheyenne Buffett and your 2 year old eats free.
And like op said use the shop in the train station a lot cheaper !!

I plan where I want to eat and work out how much it will cost. For example a counter meal was typically 50 euros for us (family of 4) earlier this month. Buffets cost us around 60-70 euros (thats with 1 child eating free as she is under 3).

So if you want one fast food meal but then one healthy meal a day I would look at around 120 euros a day but it will be more if you decide to eat at table service restaurants.

Then you need to factor in drinks , these are 3.10 euros a soft drink and around 3 euros a hot drink in the park. Soft drinks were about 1 euro cheaper in the train station.

Don't forget to take money for souvenirs too.

I recommend going to the supermarket and buying multipack of coke if you drink it as its WAY cheaper. Also cartons of fruit juice can be bought in this way and take them with you into the park. I refuse to pay park or station prices for soft drinks when I know there is a shopping centre near that will give you a multipack of coke? for the same price as one bottle in Disney :-/

We do the same. :thumbsup2

Though unhealthy, when on vacation, my husband would gladly put away 3-4 cokes with dinner...I say no! Lol...that's money better spent elsewhere. We drive, so we can pack our car with lots of snacks, a case of coke and bottles of juice and water. That alone saves 100€ or more by having that with us.

Fill up on breakfast and carry some snacks/drinks in the park. We rarely feel the need to eat 2 meals after breakfast...and usually round out the day with a buffet or early dinner and then have snacks back in our room before bed.

We aren't penny pinchers, but there are definitely ways of saving a bit with a little planning. ;)

Sorry to go a little off topic
How do you all get to val d Europe ?
Where do we get the free bus from etc
Quite a few disers have told me get the number 50 bus but I've never used them before so where do we catch them from etc.
My DH going with me next march for the first time if I can show him a few cheap places to shop he will be sold on DLP.

The bus stop is where the hotel shuttle buses leave/arrive from, its really worth a visit as when we're on holiday, I for one crave coke because its expensive and I can't justify the price! I must admit though, that we use the supermarket in Torcy as we drive (and they have a fab chinese and kebab there in the complex and a McDonald's that is cheaper) but VDE will be cheaper for snacks etc if you dont take your own (though even on the Eurostar I take a backpack with an 8 small bottle multipack of coke!). Outside the Disney bubble, foods are much cheaper though most people stay within it until they discover how much they can save. We extended our last trip offsite as we ate way under budget by stepping outside, and even ate in Inventions, Cape Cod, Restaurant des Stars and numerous EOS/McDonald's :)

do you really want to miss a day out of disney to buy drinks? I always take some in my suitcase

it would hardly be a whole day, it's only 5 minutes on the bus and the bus stops right at the door to the centre. You could be back in the parks in an hour if you know what your looking for. We've done it several times.

Like op said only a hour or so really we are staying 6 nights and would like some fruit etc to for kids, if only a short trip wouldn't bother.
I also want to be happy with the bus service as we are staying at VDE next October.
Thanks Lisa for the tips

we usually hop on the train- we timed it and it takes 90 seconds. Trains run more frequently than buses though obviously you have to pay for them. The Auchan is great. We usually buy soft drinks, fresh fruit etc.

We also have 2 kids and we budget about 120 euros a day for food. Last time and this time however we have opted for half board plus (purely for budgeting purposes) and will be allowing about 40 -50 euros a day on top of that. As we've done DLP quite a few times we don't really buy much in the line of merchandise - each child is given 30 euros each on our last day and they spend it on whatever they want - usually a small plush toy and a pen or keyring.

Depends who long people are there for and how much they want to save? Two hours max out from a trip could make a lot of difference to a budget :)

I take a bottle of squash in my case along with those disney childrens flasks from the Disney store (the straw folds down and they can hang around your neck or on the buggy!) For my children, saves a fortune! We also take raisins, crisps, cereal bars, some cheerios in a food bag (my dd loves them!) and individually wrapped brioche. All light to carry but makes a huge difference to the budget and queueing for rides!

Ah yes, we take squash too as water is free from the fountains and that helps too! We take small plastic throw away cups :)

can you take food on plane in your case! sorry if silly question but to florida its a no no

We did. You can also take drinks as long as you purchase them AFTER security has checked ur cabin bags.

You can take liquids in your checked bags, at your own risk but I take sealed squash when I've flown to the States and Germany :)
