Hi guys,

This is my first time posting in this forum, nice to meet you all!!

I've just graduated from university and I'm planning a celebration trip in September and I'm just wanting a little advice from all you lovely peeps here :)

I was browsing the Disney website and it seems as though a few events end in August and someone also mentioned to me that some rides are also closed for refurbishment? If anyone has been in September, could you maybe confirm this for me? It would be kind of pointless going if we don't get to see half the stuff.

Also, I'm thinking of staying at the New York Hotel. Now, this is gonna sound like a really silly question but I wanted to find out if they require you to pay at the check-in or pay the full amount when you book your package from the website? I will be booking under my name but my dad is paying for this trip using his card so I won't be able to pay at the check-in if they want the credit card used at booking. Unless they also accept cash. But I would consider it a hassle to be taking such a large amount of cash. Does anyone know if they allow pre-payment of the full amount?

Sorry to bore you with so many questions! This is my first trip  Many thanks!

Hi Tasha,

If you book your onsite hotel online with Disney direct, your dad will have to pay the whole amount in advance, when you book. His credit card will be do nicely :lmao: .

Don't worry about ride closures/refurbishments too much - if there are any rides closed when you are there, it will only be one or 2. I don't know which ones this far in advance, and you may be lucky and have nothing closed at all during your trip. Bear in mind though, that DLRP has "seasons" and so you won't see the high-season parades and fireworks in September, as they will have finished in August.

I've never been in high summer season, and have been to DLRP 4 times now, and still haven't seen it/done it all, not nearly!

The last I checked only Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril will be closed September 8-19. Not sure when your plans are, but if before or after those dates then it shouldn't be a problem.

Hi guys!

Thanks your reply, I feel a bit at ease now. I'm going with a few friends who are not too keen on fast rides so missing the Indiana Jones ride won't be much of a loss.

Does anyone have any recommendations for rides NOT to go on if you arent keen on extremely fast, loop and upside down rides? I will have to make a note to miss those out of our itinenary

Indiana Jones, SM2 & Aerosmith Rock n Roller coaster all are fast & have loops.

Big Thunder Mountain & Crush's Coaster are relatively fast but don't go upside down
