Never found a decent discount for DLP. Price difference between direct bookings and TA is minimal. Last time I booked with Cresta - okay deal.

New Year / Xmas is very expensive, but it is the best time to go to DLP, IMHO. The christmas theme is wonderful.

.. moving you over to our Disneyland Paris board :)

I think we have an earlier thread on the DLP board re New Year's Eve, I'll have a rummage around :teeth:

...... I have not been able to find it  It may be that it was a very old thread that was pruned off the boards - hopefully others will be able to help - I think Rob has been over New Year so hoping he can help. Rob?

thanks for looking

i didn't reliase we had a DLP board

i'm guilty of just going stright to DIS UK

sorry

neil

If you can't get a good rate at DLP for New Year's Eve, go to Paris. We spent one New Year's Eve in the Latin Quarter one year and it was truly a terrific time.

You're unlikely to get any discounted prices for NYE at on-site hotels, so booking with any of the usual tour operators (Bridge, Cresta, etc) or the official DLP office in the UK might be the best plan.

While there is a great atmosphere at NYE, the last couple of times we were there for the celebration (1999 & 2001) it was just a bit too busy for our tastes. The park stays open until at least 2am, with big fireworks at midnight and a large party in front of the castle so you can dance the night away (as well as ride all the attractions).

Regards

Rob

thanks for the advice

i spoke to dlp office yesterday and got these prices..

leaving 30 dec 2003 staying for 2 nights / 3 days in disney staying onsite in the disney sante fe hotel ( 3 double rooms):

on the eurostar train it's £1746 in total - £582 per couple

on eurotunnel (so driving down in 2 cars) it's £1344 in total - £448 per couple but then you've got 2 lots of fuel to get there and back

we'll have to give it some thought as we wanted to do somethign different this year as the past few we've just ended up going out and doing the same sort of thing as we normally do weekends
