Disneyland Paris Ever Been?

I must forgo my anual WDW trip this year for a whirlwind vacation in Europe. We are hitting Oktoberfest in Munich Germany, Paris France, Rome Italy and a few stops in between. I have the chance to take a day trip to Disneyland Paris / Walt Disney Studios. It's $80 USD for a 1 day 2 Park Hopper. Have any of you guys ever been to "Euro Disney"? Do you recommend it?

That's a great itinerary! We loved Rome and fell in love with Paris!

Disneyland Paris is a great park, and definitely worth a day trip. Their studios park, not so much. If it's cheaper for you to get a one day, one park pass, that's what I'd recommend.

Have a great time! You're in for a real treat no matter what you decide!

I dont agree a 2 park pass is a must.Go to the studios first and try for a fast pass for Crushs Coaster ,a new ride which has been a huge sucess for DLP and great fun.Rock"n"Roller coaster is much better than in Florida and the new Tower of Terror is also wonderfully themed.They have been making lots of changes latley so Id say give it a chance.
Apart from that DLP is a wonderful Resort and esspecially Disneyland Park has so much detail .Thunder Mesa and especially Big Thunder Mountain is the best from the theming in all the disney parks.

Okay, you're speaking from a more recent experience. When we were there neither the Crush Coaster nor Tower of Terror was open yet.

Glad to hear that they've improved the park experience at the Studios so much. When we went the only thing we really enjoyed was Cinemagique. That's a very cool show!

I will have to disagree with you on the Rock 'n' Rollercoaster. I think the one at WDW is far superior. It's the same coaster, but at DLP the darkness isn't as intense because they use "concert lighting" instead of black light on "Los Angeles icons". That means you can see the track a lot better at DLP and part of the fun of riding dark coaster to me is not knowing what's coming up.

Either way, the entire Disneyland Paris resort is a great place. We really loved it and are planning a return trip.

planning on hitting DLP when I take my sabbatical trip next year. Any thoughts on where to stay there?

Adam and I went to DLRP on October 2007. Here's a link to my trip report. I would definitely recommend visiting the parks, especially if you've never been. DLRP is the best park architecturally speaking. They really did a great job.

As for where to stay, if you can afford the Disneyland Hotel or Disney's Hotel New York, stay there. Otherwise, I highly recommend the Dream Castle hotel, which is off site, but has much better rooms and service that the other Disney hotels at great prices.

We stayed at the New York and thought it was great. We plan to stay at either Newport Bay or Sequoia Lodge next time. We used DVC points last time and will again. Since our next trip will most likely include a visit to London as well, we'll need to use points in both cities, and stay at a less expensive resort at DLRP. We visited and dined in both Newport and Sequoia last time and thought they were quite nice as well.

I used to work at DLP...so I would say definately make sure you visit. Of course, I am biased in many ways.

One of my most magical Disney "things" is there...I actually have my name on a Disney attraction. While there, I became good friends with a guy that worked in SQS for DLPI (Disneyland Paris Imagineering). Anyway, I gave him a hard time about him sticking his birthdate all over stuff around Star Tours...and he knew how much I would love to have some sort of legacy...so, during the Indiana Jones rehab...I got a crate. Yup, a crate. There is a crate on the loading dock near the control panel that says ship to Indiana Jones from Prof. S. Arnold. That is me! Evidently, when that was installed, my name was the only name other than Indy's you could find at the attraction.

Anyway, go have a great time and see if you can see my name. (Assuming it isn't painted over, worn off, or what have you...)

I went, but it was a *long* time ago. I traveled in Europe for 2 monthe between my Jr and Sr year in High School. Lets say... its been a few yrs. I loved it, but well.... Its DISNEY! Whats not to love?!

Thanks for the responses, seems like the two park hopper would be the better choice given there are a couple cool attractions at Studios. Out of the blue today, I get a a Pin Code offer for WDW. So, I guess I'll be wearing my Disneyland Paris t-shirt to the Food & Wine Festival this year. I mean who could pass up such a bargain?

Those are the kinds of things that make Disney so special. We went for Halloween & I was dressed as Tink. A little girl asked me to sign her book. Best moment in my life besides children's births & my wedding day.
