Hi,

We are hopefully going to go to DLP for 1 day when we visit friends in Paris in October. Does anybody know any good table service restaurants. I have heard of Auberge De Cendrillon, Is this nice??

I've been to DLP many times before, but for some reason can't really remember where we actually ate INSIDE the parks!! lol. We loved the hotel restaurants, so mainly only had 'light lunches' rather than TS.

Thanks, In advance for any help.

Here are my top tips for eating at DLP:

The Disneyland Park -
Blue Lagoon (inside Pirates of the Caribbean; seafood style menu, superb location and style)
Silver Spurs Steakhouse (great food, great smells, great cowboy style)
Auberge du Cendrillon (in Fantasyland - wonderful food)
Plaza Gardens Restaurant (excellent all-you-can-eat buffet)
Walt's - An American restaurant (good all-rounder; character breakfast with some nice Walt memorabilia around the walls)

Walt Disney Studios -
Rendez-Vous des Stars (best of some weak offerings here)

Disney Village -
Planet Hollywood (have their own version of lasagne - sensational)
The Steakhouse (superb steaks, lovely decor)
Billy Bob's BBQ Buffet (another good all-you-can-eat, and rarely too crowded in the evening)
Annette's Diner (50s-style American juxebox diner, decent food)
Cafe Mickey (character meals all day, and food is well above average)

Thanks, Simon.

I have eaten at Blue Lagoon before and loved it, the atmosphere was incredible.

Can you give me some more information about:
1) Walts
2) Auberge De Cendrillion.

By 'More Information' I mean can you tell me about the atmosphere, waht sort of food there is on offer, etc.

Of the two I much prefer Walt's. It's upstairs overlooking Main Street, with a number of rooms themed broadly along the lines of each of DLP's lands, with lots of nice decoration and artwork. Food is mainly French-inspired. I had a very lovely fish dish the last time I ate there. Portions are not large, which I was pleased by, but you should be aware of this as it's the most expensive restaurant in the park and I've heard of some people thinking it poor value for money.

I've only eaten in the Auberge once, and wasn't too impressed. It was OK, but nothing special. The dining room was nice, but certainly wasn't in the same league as the Blue Lagoon or even Walt's. There were a few characters around at lunchtime (some thing from Cinderalla I think, unsurprising I guess) but for me this detracted from the experience. I won't eat there again for a good while.

My favourite, for themeing as well as choice of menu is the Blue Lagoon. If you want to spend a lot of money on a top class restaurant, the California Grill in the Disneyland Hotel is highly regarded. I certainly enjoyed the meal I had there a couple of years ago.

Regards

Rob

Thanks for that Rob.

I have eaten at Blue Lagoon many times before, and have always found it to be excellent - the food and the setting.

California Grill is our favourite restaurant at DLP, and thats were we usualy ate in the evenings after a day at the parks.

Do Walt's do any english or american styled food on the menu, for fussy eaters?

Thanking You,

Richard

Of the top of my head I can't remember any specific items, but I did have a general impression that the menu was similar to the Blue Lagoon in terms of how 'adventurous' it was but with an emphasis on meat-based rather than fish/seafood-based dishes. I don't know if they had a children's menu which would have catered for fussy kids.

I guess that if you and your family have eaten at the Blue Lagoon without any problems then Walt's shouldn't cause you concern.

Regards

Rob

I'm at the office at the moment and will check back with my notes when I get home! I made quite a few during my many visits this summer!

From memory, Auberge is a French-orientated menu, while Walt's is more straightforward. I enjoyed lunch at Auberge, but found Walt's a better all-round experience. Plaza Gardens Restaurant (buffet-style) is well worth checking out, too (excellent vfm, I think).

OK, these are my off-the-cuff notes of the 2 restaurants (made earlier in the summer):

Walt’s’ American restaurant offers a set menu for lunch at 20Euros and they do mixture of salads and sandwiches muffins, choice of dessert. Quite a good looking menu actually and then the do an A La Carte menu which includes likes of smoked salmon on muffin, Boston clam soup, California style grilled mushroom, the main dishes include Texas spare ribs, primavera style linguine, Walt’s gourmet burger or even a grilled king prawn kebab. The starters run from 7.75E to 9.75E and the main courses from 17.50E to 23.75E. There is a three-course set meal: Choose 1 starter, 1 main course and 1 dessert for 28E. They offer a surf and turf on its own at 38E or a grilled fillet of beef on its own for 25E. The children’s menu is 10E, and desserts range from 6.80E up to 7.30E. The drinks - orange juice 3.40E, mineral water 2.50 and 3.40. The sodas; coke, fanta, sprite etc are 3.40E. Half bottle of wine anywhere between 11E and 17.50E. You can also celebrate your birthday here if you order a cake at the beginning of the meal - it is actually 2200E and that serves anywhere from 4 to 8 people.

Auberge De Cendrillon is open from 11:30 to 4:00; the Kids meal here is 10E and includes a main course, dessert, soda and a surprise. And the food varies from ravioli to fish, risotto, and scallop of chicken, to burger and chips here. The set meal for adults is 28E; starters include salmon, duck pate, and a terrine; main course is roast salmon, or risotto or entrecote steak, plus the desserts. The restaurant itself is a very elegant ballroom style with a neat and very pleasant courtyard outside so you’ve got yet another alternative for decent dining here.

Thanks for that Simon, Am I right in thinking Auberge closes at 4pm and therefore does not serve dinner??

Yup. Even in the summer, it does not stay open any later for some reason. With Fantasyland being the most popular area of the park, it seems strange to me.

I heard that New Years Eve it is open for dinner, as our friends who are going to DLParis have booked to have dinner there.

It's a shame that it doesn't open in the evening for the rest of the year, seems a bit odd to me.....
