Background Info: Me - Susan - Disney Obsessive
DH - Mark - Tolerates Disney but wants to live in Florida
DD12 - Kirsty - loves Disney especially stitch and pins

DVC members with more points than cash and leave time off work, so booked this trip as extra Disney trip as only cost was the ferry as hotel and park tickets included in DVC points.

Stayed the night at the Premier Travel Inn in Dover. Took a pleasant walk on the front. Had lovely meal in Brewers Fayre which inlcluded £5 off for guests of the hotel. Enjoyed the night and glad we stayed for this extra bonus to our holiday The restaurant had a Christmas tree up which really felt special.
Would definately do this again as felt so much more relaxing.

Very choppy sea for the crossing and Kirsty was sick (but doesn't want me to tell anyone!). Checked out the prices of the drinks and was good bought two litre bottles of Absolute Vodka for £20. Will buy rest on the way back.

Drove to DLP in about 3 hours. Petrol and Red Bull equivalent (dark dog and Burn) in Callais were very expensive. This bill came to 105 euros so almost as expensive as UK.

Wonderful and efficient check in. Put car in Vallet parking and so far do not know how much it cost as left it there for the full three days and was not included on the check out bill!!!

Was given a pack including fast passes. We went straight to our room and was very disappointed with the view. We could see the convention centre roof and that was it. The ice machine was not working either. I can drink my vodka at room temperature but Mark more fussy!!!!

Parks were very busy went to Studios and rode Rock 'N' Roller coaster as only 15 minutes wait. Pleased with myself for doing this as quite often leave this out when with other people not going on. Made our way back to Disney Village and ate at Rainforest Cafe. We are safari members but does not count in Europe! Bought a lovely Rainforest cafe Paris t-shirt for me for only 15 euros. Had leopard skin trim!!! Really enjoyed this meal. Our holiday off to a really good start.

Went back to the Hotel New York bar. Got one of those souvenier glasses for one of my friends and Mark smoked a cigar as not had one for 18 months. I had cocktails and we really felt relaxed. The final bar bill was 106 euros. During this time Mark got tipsy and went to reception to get a room up-grade. Luckily the hotel was fully booked so we must have saved a packet!!

Both Kirsty and Mark were very disappointed that the ice skating rink was not open as the information in the hotel said it was open from 22nd but when asked the CM was advised not open til 29th. I thought it was probably for the best as Kirstly only just had ingrowing toe nail operation and ice skating boot would probably not help!!!

Had lovely night in bar and staggered back to room around midnight.

day 2 next.

Many thanks for staying with this so as still finishing off the vodka as I write!!!

Susan

:rotfl: :rotfl: that has to be the best way to write a trippie :rotfl:
looking forward to hearing more, well done for doing r&rc !

Great report Sue! :goodvibes What a shame about the ice rink - I'd have been disappointed, and I don't even skate!!!

It might be worth posting this on the DLP board too. :flower:

Great start ~ Can't wait to read more.

Enjoying this - we stayed at HNY in May.

Mark got tipsy and went to reception to get a room up-grade

How come your bill was only 106 euros then ? :rolleyes1 :rotfl: We were so horrified by the prices (about 20 euros for 2 beers and a soft drink) when we arrived we tended to slum it with Heineken in the room (much cheaper from the gift shop  ) - ah, doing the maths I suppose 4 or 5 drinks might do it :goodvibes

Can't wait for day 2
