Disneyland over Memorial Day?

After going on 7 or 8 trips to WDW over the last 6 or 7 years, we have decided to do DL next year. We're considering Memorial Day weekend. Is that a good time? Our DD will be in 2nd grade next year and the schedule shows 2 days off. I was thinking of taking her out of school for two days as well. Then, we could have 5 nights for that trip.

We are DVC members can we are considering using points for the trip.

I'm very excited to plan this trip as I have only been to DL once in high school in 1994. I feel like a newbie starting my research! Woo hoo! --- New stuff to research!

Mem Day is kinda weird. Last year, arriving on the Monday was great...everyone had already been and gone, the weekend had been crowded but Monday on was nice.

This year however, it was busy over the weekend and that continued.

So I would imagine it's going to be busy, b/c everyone else has the same idea as you, plus it's later this year than it was the last two years, and more kids will likely already be out of school.

We went this past Memorial weekend and had a great time. Friday was fairly light to moderate crowds. Not bad at all. Saturday morning until mid afternoon was also somewhat light. Crowds started showing up Saturday late afternoon and evening. Sunday was rather crowded morning and afternoon but late evening Disneyland emptied out except for Space and Indy. We left on Monday morning but am told crowds were light.

It was busy, but not any busier than other peak times. In fact lighter than last Friday was. It's doable if you've got a system or a plan in place. Just know that there will be lots of other people there and plan well.
