Disneyland logistics

We have two young kids (3.5, 5.5).

1. What is the most convenient way to arrive from SNA to the Disneyland resorts? Do we need to reserve ahead? We do not want to drive and do not have car seats. Looking for a convenient / easy way.

2. What is the best option to rent a stroller? Is it better from Disneyland or some external vendor (and who). Ideally we want a high quality stroller that waits for us upon arrival and we can easily return without diving.

Thanks!

Unfortunately, for #1, you have no options without a car seat or booster. There used to be a charter bus service that negated the need for a car seat/booster, but that was discontinued many years ago (and the laws changed in 2017). Your most convenient option would be an Uber/Lyft, but you will need to bring car seats/boosters. You'll need to determine whether your kids need to be in a 5pt restraint vs. booster (not described in state law).

#2 -- I prefer stroller rentals from an outside vendor, so you can wheel it back to the hotel after the parks. We've used City Stroller Rentals (https://www.citystrollerrentals.com/) and they will deliver to most hotels. Be wary, though, that the rules have changed for on-site stays, and there's a very specific window to receive a stroller now at GCH, DLH, and PPH. Other hotels might not be as strict, we've had them deliver the stroller to their luggage rooms before our arrival, and it worked out great.

City Stroller rents out City Mini Baby Joggers, we ended up buying that exact one because of how well it performed in the parks. They have double strollers available, also.

Goodluck!

Check with Lansky Car Service. They should provide car seats and boosters. Call to double check. Other car services/shuttles provide car seats -- Karmel Shuttles? As the pp stated, Uber/Lyft do not provide car seats. If your oldest is big enough to be in a booster, you might look into Mifold travel booster or Bubblebum. Both get good reviews here.

We used In Style Transportation, they provided boosters for my 5 and 7 yr old grandkids.
I rented a stroller from Scooter bug. They dropped off and picked up from bell services at DLH where we were staying. It was nice to be able to have the stroller from hotel room to park. The rentals in park can go from Disneyland to Downtown Disney and California Adventure. But the rental stroller was nice, easily foldable.
The 5 yr old needed the stroller; you will be glad to have one.

I second the recommendation of Lanskey's. I have used them twice in the last year and will be using them again in about 2 weeks. The first time my daughter was 21 months and the second time my daughter was 2 1/2 and my son was 6 months. The provided rear facing car seats for me (you put what type of car seat you need in the reservation) and also will do a stop at a grocery store upon request (you also put that in the reservation). Since you younger one needs a full car seat I wouldn't worry about bringing a booster for the older one and just request the seats you need for both kids to save yourself the hassle. They aren't cheap (just under $200 round trip) but between the convenience of not having to deal with car seats and the stop at the store they will be my go to until my kids are out of full on car seats.

I can't help on the stroller because I have always brought my own because I wanted to have it in the airport with me since my husband is not a big theme park person (loves Disney things in general just not theme parks) so both times I have been solo parent traveling and only have 2 hands.

We are using Lansky for transportation and Scooterbug as well for a double stroller.
And FYI - Scooterbug is apparently the only stroller/scooter vendor allowed to leave rentals at the front desk of the on-site hotels -- others are required to meet you to exchange the items.

Ooh, this is useful to know. I thought the outside stroller companies were all subject to the same drop off restrictions!

And apologies to the OP, I misread not wanting to bring car seats as not wanting to use any. The car services (and car rental companies if one wants to drive) do offer them at landing.

I first read it on this (recent-ish) blog post: https://www.undercovertourist.com/blog/tips-using-stroller-disneyland/?page=4
Then found confirmation on the Disney site: https://plandisney.disney.go.com/qu...erbug-drop-off-right-dl-resort-pickup-495785/

The Scooterbug website... leaves a few things to be desired. They get good reviews on Google and TripAdvisor and bad ones on Yelp and Facebook. 🤷‍♀️
We leave 2 weeks from today and I'd be happy to report back!

Not to hijack the thread entirely, but it's along the same lines so I'll ask...does anyone have experience using the RideSafer vest for taxi/rideshare/shuttle use?

We found that the Graco Rightguide was much easier for our booster aged kiddo, getting them all strapped into the RideSafe vest is a hassle when your kid is tired.

My kids are past car seats now but we used the RideSafer vest routinely when my youngest was still in that age/size range. We used it both for travel in shuttles and Ubers and even for day to day use in the back seat of the 911 we had at the time where car seats and boosters didn't fit so well. We never had issues getting her strapped into the vest and she even became pretty good at doing it herself (with a final check by a parent of course).

we recently used scooter bug, great drop off, but web site is difficult to use. Just call they are very helpful.

QUESTION: If someone was to start a transportation system from...
Airports to Disney
Disney to Universal
What would you be willing to pay for that type of service?

Something like an Uber or Lyft but specific to Disney and other Theme Parks/ Tourist Destinations.

Thanks, this is super helpful. The little one will be about 5.5 by the time we go, and flying with a car seat/booster is less than ideal so we're trying to find a safe and appropriate workaround.

So reopening this discussion a bit. I tried booking ScooterBug on thir much-to-be-desired website, and man, what a disappointment. I select a stroller and dates, they show up as "available/confirmed" up front... I get all the way to the very end of booking and submit, then BAM, a cryptic message saying I selected something that is "overbooked" and no payment is taken...

...but the reservation is still sitting there as "unconfirmed" and now I have no idea if someone will come along and confirm it, or if I should just start making alternate plans.

Also not really excited with how little they offer. City Stroller has so much more + niceties like water and diapers.

Deeply tempted to go back to City Stroller and dealing with the delivery window, or just packing the stroller ourselves. Not sure why Disneyland went and picked one vendor with a substandard website and poor selection.

ScooterBug also operates in Orlando, and perhaps that is where the vendor was selected.

Their website is rather confusing, but I managed to book several single day scooter rentals (Jan 2022).
No problems, but here have been reports of billing issues.
