Well I went to Disneyland yesterday (Saturday October 1st)
It was gay days and great seeing so many out there
(I personally am straight but it was still great seeing everyone out there)

I am SORE today, we ended up leaving the park around 7:15 because we were too exchausted to do anymore. We only live 90 minutes away (we bought the annual passes) so I don't feel guilty about not doing it all but we did A LOT (my son has a guest assistance pass so we typically go in the fast pass line), I was just amazed at how sore I am and tired, my husband too.
We are in our mid thirties and I usually don't consider that old but good God!

Anyone else having this problem?

By the way it was HOT yesterday, can't really comment on the lines since we were typically in the fastpass line but it didn't seem too too crowded
DCA definately felt empty, I think a lot of people are staying away because of the contruction and not any Halloween activities going on over there.

Oh I know how you feel. Last year when we were there we wanted to do so much but some nights our bodies just didn't agree with us! :rotfl: It's worth the pain though!! Besides, once you get up and going the next morning our bodies finally agreed to get going as well......just took a little longer than normal.:rotfl:

I'm 60 and I remember staying at Disneyland until well after midnight. If I get there early now, I'm done by 5:00!!

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: OH My Gosh yes...age hurts  Last year after waiting in line and then standing for WOC (middle of August)...the walk back to the hotel was murder...we are in the mid-60's...but it was all a go the next day :thumbsup2

The heat can be particularly draining (as can running around the parks--there is a LOT of walking!). I don't blame you for being exhausted; when we went in June 2009 and it was fairly hot, I got to feeling that way too!

I agree that heat always takes a lot out of a person. We stay at a hotel across the street from the gates so that we can take a nap around 2:00pm. Otherwise there's no way that we could get through the fireworks at the end of the night.

I was there Wednesday-Friday, and didn't stay past 7! I had fastpasses for World of Color two nights, but didn't see it. Ten+ hour days in the parks are plenty for me.

When I was in my mid thirties (and 2 kids ago) I could go all day and night. The last couple of years have been more exhausting and we go at a slower pace, even. I am 41 and I poop out early at Dl now. what happened to me and my energy? Where did it all go? My mind want to GO, GO, GO, but my body says NO!NO!NO!

Thank you to each and every one of you YOUNG people who said this....I'm on the wrong side of 50 now and feeling very old as my teenagers want to go go go and I'm saying "I'll be back at the hotel, call me when you want to come home", lol. Makes me feel better knowing I'm not the only one and that some younger than me feel that way too, lol.

Tomorrow we do the Halloween Party.....and I have no clue how I'm going to make it to the end of the party, lol. But I will for my girls....probably by finding a comfy seat somewhere and checking in with them by cell phone, lol.

Today we were there at 9am, but home by 2pm.....my feet still hurt 2 hours later.

Just be glad you were not at Magic Kingdom or any other WDW park for that matter. We usually have no problem handling walking around DL, compared to WDW there is a LOT less walking required.

Ibupofin is my best friend when we go... I started going to the parks yearly (sometimes twice a year) at about 35 I will be 41 this year and after the first day I hurt.... Hot tubs at the hotel and Ibuprofin has saved my trip on more than one occasion!:rolleyes1

I am in my late 20s and I feel the same way! by 3:00, I told my bf we need to sit down and we rested for hour before walking again!

oh yea I feel your pain! I will be the big 40 next trip and I am a little happy about the short hours . I always push to get there early but almost never can make it to midnight
:sad2:

Boy do I hear ya! But spending a day in the park is such a wonderful way to get so completely pooped out! I generally sleep like a baby afterwards and get a recharge by morning.

All our trips have been 10+ days so usually we have to work through the pain the first week and by the second week our poor old bodies have finally toughened up enough they are not complaining nearly as much anymore. Funny thing too is that my aches and pains tend to be in different places each year. Over the years, I have found a few things that have helped to combat some of the soreness. As aroseinwintr mentioned, ibuprofen or tylenol (and, in extreme cases something a little stronger) can be your best friend. Then I team that up with my crocs or my Skechers and a pair of support stockings. Trendy I am not but my legs do thank me. My latest tool, however, has been to utilize the train as a mode of transportation as often as we can. I was amazed last year at the amount of walking we were able to reduce. Don't know why it took so long to figure it out but you can bet we will be utilizing it again this year!

I hear ya, by the third day last trip, I was so sore I could barely move (even w/ ibuprofen)! This time we're doing, a closer hotel and a single stroller instead of a double. Less than 4 weeks to go, so DD6 and I better get started training! It's finally out of the 90's here, so cool enough to go walking more comfortably. :)

I do a lot of the Disney races, mostly walking and I have really learned that taking a cold (icy if possible) bath right after you are done walking for the day will do wonders for how you feel later. It sounds terrible, but it's really not...the cool temperature cuts down on the inflammation in the leg muscles and I am not nearly as stiff the next day. :thumbsup2

After an ice bath you could THEN hit the hot tub! :goodvibes
