disneyland in october?

My family and I will be staying at the GCH at DLR oct 15-20. I was wondering if anyone could give me some info about what will be closed during this time? What kind, if any special events are going on during this time and how are the crowds? I CAN'T WAIT! We are going for our daughters 2 birthday and our 3rd anniversary.

All of the Halloween decorations will be up and they will be having the Halloween parties. Crowds over the past few years have been much larger due to all the Halloween stuff and year round schools. I know where I live the kids have 3 weeks off in October and a lot of people go to DL!

We'll be there the 18th - 22nd. Can't wait!

This is the same week we are hoping to go. I am curious to read what type of replies you get. I think sometimes Matterhorn goes down in the Fall for refurb, but I don't know whether it will this year or not. I think this week might miss downtimes for IASW and HM holiday overlays, at least that is what I am hoping. I want to take some family that has never been, so they need to see both of these classics up and running!

Haunted Mansion Holiday should be up and running. It usually opens up near the 1st. Not sure about Small World.

we went in October last year and what we found was that alot of the main parades/entertainment were running only on the weekends. I think if I remember correctly High School Musical Pep Rally, Fireworks, one of the parades, and some other items were weekends only.

Anyway, we had a great time in October. The crowds during the week were very manageable and in DCA some rides had non existent wait lines. It was really neat to see the Disney characters dressed up in Halloween costumes and the decorations were really cool. In Disneyland, they had a special section called Woody's Roundup and they did all kinds of crafts and shows plus a petting zoo. My dd loved it. Have fun!
