Heading to DL from the east coast in early October for a week - 4 nights CY Theme Park Entrance and 3 nights Disneyland Resort. Any advice or tips during that time of year? How are crows levels? Recommended restaurants? Our last trip was in 2015 in early December. Thanks for your input.

There may be a Halloween party, which will affect park hours. However, there isn’t a party everyday, so you can still get a lot done, you will just have to plan well. In the past few years, October has been crowded due to I think Halloween parties and fall breaks of neighboring states (includes regular schools and colleges). It’s a fun time though! The park is so cute during Halloween!

You'll be there during HalloweenTime, one of my favorite "seasons" at DLR. Last year, they added decorations to DCA (Buena Vista Street and Carsland), which really made HalloweenTime seem to be resort wide. They have not yet announced the dates for Mickey's Halloween Party (MHP), but might (should) also be happening while you are there. The dates (and details - there are rumors that it might move over to DCA this year) are usually announced in mid-summer (mid-July). If you can, I would try to go to at least one MHP while you're there. In terms of crowds, my guess is that the evenings will be busy, but the mornings might not be bad on the weekdays. The weekends are always busy during HalloweenTime. The first weekend in October (10/5-10/7) is when Gay Days, one of the largest unofficial events at DLR, is slated to happen along with Columbus Day (some folks get a three-day weekend). So, expect pretty big crowds on those days.

In terms of dining...my family's favorite TS places include Cafe Orleans, Carnation Cafe, RBT, and Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen. For CS locations, we really like French Market, Plaza Inn, Red Rose Tavern, and Jolly Holiday.

Thanks for the info. Definitely planning on attending a party.

I also love French market and we often go to jolly holiday. I love Bengal bbq for snacks.

In DCA we always go to Boardwalk pizza & pasta. Also, I love the veggie sub at award wieners.

Check out menus at Allears.net

I’ve heard such great things about the desert party that my sis and I are going this time.

I’m also trying the veggie chili at cozy cone 3.

Don't miss "Frozen" or "Crush" in DCA
Steakhouse 55 in the DLH is great for Dinner
While at the DLH, use Early Admission to get in the parks early and enjoy some of the popular rides without the long lines.
::yes:: Take time to enjoy being at DisneyLand ::yes::

Traveling as far as you are, be sure to go to TOON Town and get pictures with Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and any other characters that are therepixiedust:

I was there last year during this time. It will be more crowded than you expect but you should have plenty of days. Monday the 8th will be extra-busy for Columbus Day vs. a random Monday.

The Halloween stuff is a real treat and a great extra. Be sure to get FPs early in the day for any of the possible Halloween overlays -- last year they had Guardians of the Galaxy Monsters After dark, Haunted Mansion Holiday, Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy, plus non-FP rides in Cars Land.

Last Oct. it was warm enough to take a swim break each afternoon. The kids loved it. Great way to break up the day.
