If I were to plan a holiday in April 2016, arriving around the 17th, how busy are the parks likely to be? Would I be missing the spring break rush? We would be in the area for approximately 10-12 days, doing other things as well as disney, so we would be able to go during the week as well as at the weekend if we needed to to see show etc. I'm considering a 4 day pass with two days at each park.

I was just there during that time frame this year. Weekdays were not bad at all. Friday through Sunday were of course more crowded, but overall I think it is a good time to go. Most Spring break crowds seemed to be gone.

We also went about that same time this year (arrived this year on the 12th of April). I agree with PP, Sunday was busy but the rest of the week was very manageable. We were able to do everything we wanted. And Easter is even earlier next year so that might also work to your advantage since we were there one week after Easter, the schools that are off the week after Easter were still on vacation that weekend. We talked to a couple of families from Washington State that were there on Spring Break starting on the 13th, but most everyone else is back in school by then.

Just FYI, the park was open 9-9 during the week (8-12 on Weekends) with WOC and Fireworks every night, but they were only doing Fantasmic on the weekends. I think the following week it went back to 10-8 hours so I would probably plan on that. Three major rides were in refurb and at least one additional one was scheduled to close the next week (Indy and it probably should have been closed when we were there since it kept breaking down).

we were there from 22 april to 30th .. weekdays easy with good crowds. weekends busy. we did Knotts on the Monday and it was pretty much walk on to every ride straight away.. weekend would have been crazy as no fast past . I think doing late April is a great time

We were there the last week of April and LOVED it. Crowds picked up on Friday but Monday through Thursday. Excluding Meeting Anna and Elsa, we didn't wait more than 20 minutes for anything as long as we utilized fast pass and were there within 15 minutes of park opening for the busier rides.

We were there the 19th-25th. Monday through Thursday was great, went at rope drop every morning and were able to walk on rides with no wait for the first hour. Afternoon and evenings, waits were 10 to 30 mins depending on the attraction. Friday morning was great too but as the day went on, the crowds really picked up. By dinnertime, the waits were an hour and it felt so crowded because of all the people camping out for fireworks and waiting to line up for Fantasmic.
