Disneyland in July?

Well, my perfectly planned, carefully organized, elaborately detailed trip to California next year is now rescheduled because of the unexpected news that baby #3 has a due date of the day we would be rolling into Anaheim (unexpected in the sense that we have been infertile for two years and were giving up all hope, so this is a happy reason to reschedule!!).

My older kids are now in school, so we have to plan carefully and my husband has a job that gets busier during the holidays, so even though I would love a November or December trip, I don't see myself talking him into that.

So what about July? Is it miserably hot? Are the crowds so massive that it wouldn't even be worth it? I don't think we would consider the week of the 4th (although opinions on that would be welcome), but late July would be a consideration. Any help is much appreciated!

Here is Hydro guys take on "high" season.....http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=36509602

I would totally go in July (and agree about staying away on the 4th). Seems like DL is busy ALL the time nowadays and why not go in the summer when the hours are longer, fewer rides are being refurbed, there is more entertainment etc.

Congratulations on the baby!!

No, it is not miserably hot. But it can be. Especially if you "follow the herd" and arrive late each morning and stay through the heat of the day. And no, it is not massively crowded. It is busy, but park hours are longer. Most folks who are deathly afraid of the "massive summer crowds" come away thinking "wow, that was not nearly as bad as I expected."

Thanks for the links! I hate crowds, so we're the "Up early, break during the afternoon, back at night" group :).

This year, the crowds haven't been bad. CA Adventure has been much busier thanks to Carsland, but Disneyland has been nicer as a result.

No guarantee what next year will bring, however.

And a huge congrats!
