This is our 5th trip to Disneyland. Our previous ones were in April,May and Aug. I am unable to be in much sun or heat so we are wanting to go when it is cooler. We are looking into renting a house and going to Disneyland in Feb or March 2009. When do you think would be the best? We are trying to decide which month.
Thanks so much

We went in March of 2007. We went to CA for 2 weeks -- the week before Ontario March Break, and the week of. We spent the week before at DLR. There were hardly any crowds. It was off-season for them, as most people head off to Florida. The weather was beautiful, but you needed a light jacket in the evening. Because it was off-season though, the parks were closed early so be aware of that. I assume it was busier the week of March break because hours were starting to be extended.

I don't know if DLR hours are out yet, but they are a good indicator of what crowds are expected. Also, if you can arrange your visit for duting the week rather than the weekend, crowds are lower.

If you do go in February, stay away from President's week.

We used to live just over an hour from Disneyland. You will definitely find it a bit cooler in February and March. Average highs in February are only 69 and 70 in March (acccording to weather.com).

One thing to consider is that in February, their are several American holidays: Lincoln's birthday, President's Day and Washington's birthday. I pulled up the calendar for our old school district and they are showing Feb. 9 and 16 (both Mondays) as school holidays. You might want to plan around those dates if you schedule for February.

We are planning a family trip to DL. Leaving on Feb 1st, and arriving Feb3rd, and staying for 7 days. We are driving, as it's too expensive to fly. I'd say that no matter when you go, you are still going to get crowds. However, if you go in Feb/Mar, which is considered low season, then you avoid some of the heavier crowds that are there the remainder of the year. No matter when you go, the most important thing is that you have a great time, and that's the most important thing.

Thanks to all,,, we have decided to go Feb1-8th since that works with all of our schedules.... I am very excited this will be my 5th time and 2nd for our son and 3rd for our daughter... Thanks again...

Will also be in Disneyland around the same. Are planning on getting down to DL either Feb 2nd or 3rd, and stay till Feb 9th or 10th. We are still deciding which day we plan on leaving, as we are driving, and want to check out the Monterey Bay Aquarium on the way home. Will have our dates written in stone when we book our hotel in DL sometime in Nov. Have decided to stay at the Howard Johnsons Anaheim due to all the great reviews I've heard about it since I've been on the board. Hope to see you there! On the US Disboard there is an ongoing thread that DIS members are adding their dates in DL to. It's quite a large list, and couldn't hurt to add your vacation times to as well. Have a greyt day!!
