When does Disneyland start getting really crowded in December? We are thinking of planning a Disneyland trip, but we couldn't leave until Dec. 17th. I know about the crowds at Disney World at Christmas since we've done that trip twice, but no idea about Disneyland. Can anyone give me any suggestions?

The weekend before Christmas thru New Years are extra crowded. With Christmas this year falling on a Sunday my guess is that the 17th may be OK but you will find the crowds getting bigger throughout the week.

Thank you. Disney World is crowded too, and it get worse the closer to New years. There is something magical being there Christmas morning when the Magic Kingdom opens. We thought if we could we would try Disneyland this year.

I asked a CM this very question last week. According to the CM the first week is fairly slow and each week gets increasingly busier. That probably doesn't help to much though. Sorry.

December does ramp up in a exponential fashion.

If that's your dates and you've done WDW at Christmas you should be well prepared. No Osborne Lights but there is the Holiday Haunted Mansion.
