Disneyland in December

We will be visiting Disneyland for a couple days in December and I was hoping to get some info.

Staying at the Grand Californian. We will be there on a sunday and a monday (Dec 9&10). I heard that Mondays are great days as far as crowds go. Do you think that is true?

Disneyland opens earlier than California Adventure, can you walk thru California Adventure to get to Disneyland? They have an entrance into California Adventure. Or do you have to go through Downtown Disney?

I forgot to ask about early entry. Do they offer it on sundays and or mondays for resort guests? Last time we went (years ago) they had that and we enjoyed getting in a little earlier than the general public.

Thanks

You cannot walk through a closed DCA to get to an open DL. Wouldn't it be cool if you could, though?

Monday will be the EE day while you're there (unless you're staying over to Tuesday when there's another EE day, b/c people have told me that the privileges go until you've checked out), and staying in the hotel gives you EE privileges!

Here's a good picture to get you familiar with the resort layout.

The two parks aren't connected. Instead, there's a large plaza in the middle of them with each park having separate ticket gates. So to get to DL from the GCH, you just need to go out of the hotel, walk to the plaza and hop in line.

Early entry is offered for resort guests and is offered M, T, Th, Sa. So you may use it on the 10th. And yes, Mondays in the off season are very good days to go.

Thank you for the map, makes it all a little easier to understand.

It looks like the Grand Californian is the best hotel location. Is that true? I am very excited to stay there. We requested bunk beds, hope we get them

So what do you expect the average length of line we'll have to wait in for rides? Do you think Sunday will be much worse than Monday as far as crowds?

EE: what rides are typically open?

Closing time: Disneyland is open until midnight on Sunday, do the crowds usually stay that late?

Can you swim in December? I know the weather can be nice, but are the pools heated still? Will we look like nuts if we go to the pool if its not really warm out?

Go to the Disneyland site, and click on the calendar link, it will give you timings, and list any rides that may be closed during the period of your visit.

Hey! If the pool is open, swim! We drive down from Canada, the availability of a pool plays a huge role in our hotel choice, we like to swim year round, preferably outdoors. We find the winter temperature in Anaheim quite pleasant.
