Disneyland Hotels Stay

I would like to book a stay at one of disneyland hotels on my next trip. Where is the best place to book a stay and what is the best time to stay there during December/Holiday Time. Which is the best hotel to stay at for the overall experience.

Overall I've found great rates through Costco Travel for the on-site properties, usually there is some GC back and the rate is slightly cheaper than Disneyland direct (considering discounts off of rack rates). I will say that through the website they force you to buy a room/ticket package; however, if you call and state you already have tickets they will sell you just a room only package by phone, but you don't lose any of the incentives offered with the package.

As for offsite I mostly rely on Kayak to look into what is the cheapest there that are within walking distance, I personally have found those to be pretty reliably the cheapest rates.

As for the time to go I'll let others comment on that since I just do short weekend trips out there.

As for the best hotel to stay it depends: on-site or off-site?

We love Disneyland hotel. If we want to save money. We will stay off site. Honestly. I have gotten best rates using pin codes and just calling direct.

I'd encourage you to take a look at many of the sticky threads at the top of the forums for information about hotels as well as differences between WDW and DLR. Lots of great info available!
