Press release said that Disney had 15 smoking room requests in three years. Policy is effective March first.

I think (though someone please verify or not) that the GF has been totally non-smoking since it opened. I've heard a few complaints of people smoking on balconies, but otherwise, it seems OK.

I hope to see this sooner than later in ALL resorts! :thumbsup2

I would love it too! 15 requests in 3 years is pretty amazing. Somehow I doubt the same is true at WDW though.

Simba's Mom, GF is not smoke free. In fact, at one point cigars were allowed in the second floor lounge I believe. Still could be true for all I know since food isn't served there.

The GF at WDW is not totally nonsmoking.

The Grand Californian at the Disneyland resort has been 100% nonsmoking since it opened.

My mind was thinking one thing, and I used the wrong letters. I meant the one in California, the GC. That's not the first time I've made that mistake. Sorry! And I think I read last night that it [the one I meant to write] is.

I can so relate to that :rotfl:

Interesting about GC, Simba's Mom and Horace. How old is that resort now? I suppose smoking requests were already down when it was built.

GC was not yet open when I was there in May 2000, so it is probably a year after that judging by the phase of construction they were at.

Thanks. The years go by fast don't they?
