Hey everyone! Last summer when I stayed at the Disneyland hotel we were not in one of the redone rooms and we ended up switching rooms because of the noisy construction that was taking away from our afternoon naps! We found a good price to stay there again in May and have already booked it, but I was wondering what was going on construction-wise? Are all the rooms redone yet? Will there still be noisy construction going on during the day?

TIA! :yay:

I don't have an answer to your question, but would you mind giving me more info about your good price? Where did you find it? We're going in May also and I'm trying to decide if we can stay onsite for a couple of the nights. Thanks. :)

Right now, they are doing some lobby work which should wrap up quickly or possibly be done, in the lobby of two of the towers. Most of the work is going in on the Magic Tower(the one with the main lobby, registration). They are redoing the rooms in there so it probably will still be going on in there.

On the grounds, there is still a lot of work going on. Most of the heavy work is coming to an end quickly. So it will probably depend on if you are there in two weeks or four. Still I wouldn't count on using the new waterslides or new pool even though they might look ready to use.

Skiingfast- Thanks for the response! I'm sure our stay will be magical even if we are in the older room!

Kemom - We booked during their spring sale and I was able to get an even greater discount with my AP. Im not sure if this sale is still happening or not

If you are lucky and booked one of the standard rooms you will be in luck. Latest pictures show tarps all the way up the magic tower except the top two floors. So I don't think any old rooms will be left. So you might of booked a standard and will recieve a preffered.

Here is a link to some construction opinions from the last few days

Thanks for the link! I did not see this was posted so recently so I apologize for creating a duplicate thread...

Reading that freaks me out a little! I will discuss this with my group. However, like I said, we did get a very good rate and I'm sure the actual rooms will still be magical. And the close proximity to DTD is a big bonus for me.

Not meant to freak you out just to give you more information to make a intelligent decision. We all have our opinions and what or what will not influence our trip.

Got back from the DLH yesterday, we were there for 6 nights and had a new room in the wonder tower. It was almost silent for our afternoon naps which was wonderful, and the room was gorgeous. The trade off is that the wonder tower only has one working entrance around the back of the building so it is a long walk. The pool area is under construction but the 1 pool is open and it was busy, if you want a slide you can use the PPH's pool. We had a great stay but it was alot of extra walking.

newmouse82, that is exactly why I don't want to stay there now, the inconvenience of the extra walking/construction doesn't appeal to me at all, especially since they aren't discounting the rooms during this time, which I really think they should!! Good to know that you had a silent nap though! I want to stay there when it's completely done, although I think we'll head over that way for Goofy's Kitchen (we've never eaten there) and see for ourselves.

This is my 400th post, by the way, yippee!! ;)

Thank you all for your input! After talking to my traveling companions, we decided the location for us can not be beat! And we love that Disney magic in the rooms :) We are going to be at the battle of the bay on the 21 (One month from today!) and then be in Disneyland for the 22-25. (Fingers crossed Im one of the lucky AP holders that gets to ride star tours that week!) Because of the shortened hours on those days, we most likely wont be spending time swimming. Thanks again for all of the responses! :) Very helpful.
