Hey.

I've just looked and for our 5 night stay over the christmas (november/dec) period, I can upgrade our stay to the Disneyland Hotel for £250 more than we have currently paid for the Sequioa Lodge...

Now, every time I've visited DLRP, we've always stayed at Sequioa.... but after seeing the DLH last time we went, I get the feeling the family would really love to stay here one day... so i'm thinking of a possible upgrade as a surprise for them all.

What would make it even nicer is that it's an elderly friends first ever visit (he thought he'd never go in his life!).. and he's a disney lover as well.

So... few questions for you all.

1) Is it worth it?

2) We have a disabled room and a normal room at Sequioa at the moment, can we request this as the DLH with a chance of a view over the park at night?

3) Do we get any sort of special fastpass for staying at the DLH? I have read snippets somewhere about a possible VIP fastpass when staying here - but I understood you may need to purchase these.

Any other useful info or comments are welcome!

Hiya,

I can't answer your Qs about the disabled room, but I would definitely say it's worth the upgrade. We've only stayed there once, but it was just that extra bit of magic that made the trip something really special. We had a room overlooking the entrance and although we couldn't see the castle, all of the entrance plaza was lit up at night, and you woke up to the Main Street music each morning....not ashamed to admit that I ended up sleeping on the big windowsill just to be able to see the park when I woke up!! :rolleyes2

We're off next sunday and staying offsite this time in an apartment to make it slightly cheaper, but if I had the money I'd stay in the DLH on every visit!

I think only you can decide if it's worth it but if you've got the money why not go for it.

It's a one off holiday for your elderly friend and I'm sure you'd all appreciate being that close to your hotel (and the park) if the weather is cold and damp as it can be in December at DLP.

Afaik you get a fastpass per person at the DLH per jour but it's not the VIP variety. They are either on sale for 60€ or free if you are staying in a Castle Club room.

Depending on when you are going (if out of school holidays) you shouldn't need them as I've always found the park very calm in winter.

hth :)

Thanks :)

I've just read that the disabled rooms in the DLH are on ground floor level. Can anyone confirm is or post pictures of the view?

I ask because currently we have requested a high room at the SLH so that we get a good view as they have disabled rooms on multiple floors... And it seems we may get a poor view at the DLH in the disabled rooms. (which would be ashame with the cost difference!)

After speaking with the DLRP line, I have no gone off this idea quite a bit.

They informed me that the DLH does not have special rooms connected to standard rooms as the SLH has, so in effect we'd be paying for 2 rooms rather than the 1 adapted room.. putting the cost up + £1200.

Surprised the layout/costing is so different for the hotels. Of course I expected a price rise but I didn't expect the rooms to be seperated, as you'd think they would follow the same procedure as the other hotels.... strange!
