I read somewhere that the Dreams tower at DLH was slated to be completed in mid January 2010. Can anyone verify this?

Does anyone have any info about the renovations?

Some of the rooms are now finished. If you read the last couple of pages of the December trips thread, one DisBoarder posted a picture after staying in one of the renovated rooms last week.

Yes, I stayed in the Dreams Tower last week in a newly renovated room. The room number was 5066 I think. I accidentally tried to get into 5064 and the door swung open. I had a quick look around and soon realised that it wasn't ours........there was no furniture whatsoever!

Unfortunately, this is the only picture I took. My son loved playing the little musical tune and light show on the headboard, he thought that was awesome.

COLb,

Thanks for the info. What kind of room did you book, standard? Did you ask for a renovated room? Did it look like they were almost done on the exterior?

Thanks.

One half of the Dreams Tower exterior is finished (It looks finished anyway) in Blue. The other half is still the old color, as are the rooms (not yet renovated).

I booked a standard room, however when checking in I asked for a view upgrade and close to DTD. They gave me a pool view for $40pn extra in the Dreams Tower that ended up being the renovated room.

I didn't mind paying the extra as I has come all the way from Australia to see DLR, so what is a few extra $$$

I agree its worth it. And you got a brand new room. Very nice!

Does anyone know if Disney has standard view rooms in Dreams tower?

It will be interesting to see if they charge more for these rooms as more become complete. Being a DLH guest for what seems like forever, it seems weird to not be able to open he windows. I'm sure it is a beautiful view still.
I wonder if there will still be sliders on those suites in the wonder tower, previously bonita on the corners. It would be a shame if you could not use those big wrap around patios. I guess it is possible that they will remove them all together.

I forgot to ask, in the renovated bathroom, did they move the shower head up. The old shower heads were so low that you had to lean down to get under them. Thanks

Yes, at 6'5", I didn't have a problem with the shower heads. They were much higher than before.
