Disneyland Hotel Questions

Good evening all

So with 47 sleeps to go I have a few questions and would love some perspective and info please!

1/ Does anyone have any room numbers or floors or sections they would be inclined to request? Having not stayed here before I really don't have a clue!

2/ Its my 28th birthday the day we arrive - I would really love to eat at the California Grill and would love to know if its worth it? We can do Inventions some other time and I'm inclined to leave it until November but if it really is much better IYO then the Cali Grill I would love to know too Also are there any tables that have nice views at the Cali Grill?

3/ Does anyone know what the gym is like? And what time it opens?

4/ Is there a particular spot we should stake out for the descent of the stairs? We leave Friday at lunchtime so Thursday is our only shot at seeing it

5/ What is the pool like? Is there a kiddies pool too?

6/ What time is breakfast served until? We were thinking of a couple of EMH mornings followed by brekkie is its feasible.

Any other recommendations, tips, info and advice will be greatly appreciated!

We stayed in room 1210 which was on the 2nd floor and overlooked the entrance at guest storage you could see city hall behind.

The view was good you could hear the park music with the window open. Although you could not see lots of the park I believe you probably need to get a castle club room to get a great view.

But it was on the wing with the reception it was very quiet and was back in your room 2 mins from exiting the park. It also meant you were the connecting level for the shop and Inventions/ California grill.

The pool was small but functional no kids pool but plenty of floats etc and just one of those Jacuzzi pools alongside the main pool.

Breakfast no time slot required just your easypass to enter so we did EMH and came back for breakfast 09.45-10ish think it was served until 11 characters at breakfast from 8am onwards.

dlp.dlh.front.office@disney.com I emailed a week before mentioning birthdays they gave me this nice room with flowers and bottled water and a card welcoming us. Our check in envelope was different to all the others in a pile of about 4 which seemed to be all the special requests. They did reply my email not guaranteeing my requests but acknowledging and with the indication they would try

We arrived 10 minutes before the decent of the stairs and its not too busy and the characters split up and move around so fairly easy to see them all.

Wow thanks a mill for all the info! It would be amazing to get a room where we could hear the park music! Sounds like a great room location too Thanks again
