Hi,

We have been saving like mad and are fortunate enough to be staying in the DLH for 4 nights in June. :yay:

I have read that some people fax requests for room requests eg a good view or balcony door. Is this a good idea or does it put their backs up at the cheek of it and you end up worse off. Or do you have to pay extra for different views? If anyone has done it, what sort of view is a nice one to request. And who do you fax to?

Also is it worth taking all swim wear etc to use the pool or are we going to be having too much fun to even think about it, especially as I gather it has no shallow end so would need to take flotation aids for my youngest who cant swim.

Do they have alarm clocks in the room as would hate to lie in!!! (very much doubt it due to excitement but you never know!!) :mickeyjum

Thanks in advance

Yes, I would take swimming gear - it is nice to chill out a bit in the middle of the day, or after the Park closes. IIRC they had floats and things there.

You can arrange a wake up call on the phone. It is all automated - you press the little alarm clock symbol and then enter the time you want as a 24 hour clock time. A very strongly accented voice then say" Your request 'as been recorded. You may 'ang up" . Then at the chosen time the phone rings and Goofy is on the line saying "Howdy folks, do you know what time it is? It's time to riiiiiise and shine. We got a big day ahead of us" :rotfl:

Hi, I politely requested a room with a nice view and got a friendly (if slightly standard) response. There are no views directly over the park, unless you pay extra for them! I was given a room that faced the park and had a partial view of the Castle. I'm not sure whether it was just the luck of the draw...;)

We always send a fax and ask for a special room and sometimes this works.

But there are no standard rooms at the DLH with view to the park. And there is also a huge difference to WDW were you can have different standard rooms with different view for a different price.

At the DLH all standard rooms have the same price but there is a huge difference in the view you can get.

So you can end up for the same price that you have paid with a boring view to the RER station or you can have a lovely view to Fantasia Gardens/the pool/the entrance.

Why don't you have a look at my TR from June last year:

Love your trip report!:goodvibes

I was interested in knowing about requesting a room type aswell.
I was worried, if i requested one, it wouldn't be the right thing to do.

It's taken such a long time for us to be able to aford this hotel aswell, i thought it was worth a try.

I realise you don't get a park view or anything with a standard room.
But would like something maybe near the entrance/facing the park. If possible.

Is there an email address or anything to request this?.

Thanks:wizard:
