Hi, has anyone recently stayed in a premium view room at the Disneyland Hotel and had a room in the Adventure tower overlooking Downtown Disney? I know there is a Downtown Disney premium view room type, we don't have that booked, but I wasn't sure if some general premium rooms also looked out that way. I read premium usually means a higher floor and I was wondering if there are any rooms you would recommend requesting. I have found maps for room types for the Grand Californian, but nothing specific for the DLH. Thanks!

Premium view rooms at Adventure have typically been the higher floors with mostly unobstructed views. On one side, that would overlook DTD and on the other, the pool. There are actually regular (standard) rooms in Adventure because palm trees can block some of the view or the floors are low enough not to have much of a view anyway. I usually ask for a standard room in Adventure. If they are showing deluxe rooms, those would be below the top few levels. Most of the rooms are essentially the same, so the main determination for premium etc is how much of a view you have.

I've often had a premium DTD-view room in Adventure, and it's my favorite! However, I don't know what the current view is like with the construction and changes being made at that end of DTD.

edited to add that I prefer a room near the middle (close to elevator) and the side that's closest to Fantasy (lobby tower).

Premium View rooms can be in any tower. The Premium View rooms in the Adventure Tower face the pool, not Downtown Disney. You can always angle for an upgrade to a Premium Downtown Disney View at check-in, but based purely on the category, no Premium View room faces DTD. If you want a DTD view guaranteed, you're going to have to pay for it.

Here's how rooms are roughly categorized in the Adventure Tower specifically:

Premium Club Level: Floors 9-11 facing Downtown Disney (see attached photo taken March 2024)
Standard Club Level: Floors 9-11 facing pool
Premium Downtown Disney View: Floors 5-8 facing Downtown Disney
Premium View: Floors 5-8 facing pool
Deluxe View: Floors 1-4 facing pool
Standard: Floors 1-4 facing either direction (generally facing a concrete path or obscured by trees)

Note that the even the view from a lower floor (5-6) Premium DTD View room is hit or miss because the trees have grown quite high, and the view with construction is poor. Personally, I don't think it's worth it unless you're on at least F7, preferably F8. I usually end up booking Standard Club Level to face the pool, and enjoy the DTD View from the E-Ticket Lounge on F11.

Source: I've stayed in almost all of these room types in the Adventure Tower.

This has changed, then. I used to like to stay in a premium DTD-facing room, but I've only stayed in that tower once post-covid, and we were in a premium club level DTD view room. I don't stay at DLH very often these days unless I'm going to Dapper Day.

For my December birthday trip I paid for Premium DTD View and it was the most disappointing view ever! Walked in and all you could see were trees! I will never pay for that view again!

I am currently planning a trip for Augustand planning to stay at DLH for the first time, would you say the difference between standard and deluxe is worth it? The additional cost difference for deluxe view is $165 for the entire stay.

TIA! :)

Thanks for all your feedback! I have requested the adventure tower and it actually sounds like I might enjoy the pool view better if the other side is just trees!

I would say it is worth it because I hate looking at parking lots, but if it stretches the budget too much for you then I would say stick with the standard! Some say if you request fantasy tower and standard you can see the fireworks, but they won't guarantee the tower.

I also hate parking lot views! LOL It wouldn't stretch the budget too much, so I will go ahead with the deluxe view. Thank you! I really want to stay in the Fantasy tower (bc it's my fave land) but I am not sure if it matters location wise?

For folks who've booked a DTD view and only had trees - was there any recourse? Were you able the downgrade your room? Charging people so much extra for a view they don't actually get seems like terrible customer service.

I have a premium pool view booked for June 25-29.
How do I request higher floor Adventure?
Do you call? The number listed on the reservation?

I'm planning on having my travel agent put in the request for me and I was also going to add the request when I check-in, we will be there at the same time! Enjoy your stay!
