Help me decide which one to stay at...besides the price difference are there any pros/cons on both hotels?? :confused3:confused3:confused3

I have never stayed at the DLH, only the PPH, but we loved it. The Park View room we had both times was AMAZING.

I hope to stay at the DLH in the near future.

We stayed at PPH concierge level and it was wonderful. The view into DCA was amazing and the CM's were so nice and accommodating. We would walk through the Grand every day to get to downtown Disney and to either park. I think we took the secret entrance into DCA twice and used it to exit the park often. I would stay here again, it was roomy, convenient for our group as we needed two queens and a daybed which the couch folds down into.

We will be staying at DLH in February and are looking forward to that. I don't think you can go wrong with either hotel. DLH is more Disney.....that is really the only difference in my opinion.

In my experience, the grounds are better at DLH but the views and cast members are superior at PPH. Both rooms, while decorated completely different, are very nice. Good luck deciding!

I would absolutely agree with the above!!!!:thumbsup2 I really don't think you can go wrong with either the DLH or the PPH---it just depends on what you are specifically looking for!

I've stayed at both and much prefer the DLH. It's just more Disney, from the lobby to the rooms to restaurants to the pool area. I thought the PPH was just boring and blah. My kids didn't like it much, either.

But you definitely get better views from the PPH in SOME of the rooms. We didn't have a view room, but I could see the views from the other side of the hall and they were great.

Not sure what you mean by laid back. It's not as upscale feeling as the DLH. But you can walk around dressed very casually in either.

$15.00 for self parking, $17.00 for valet:)!

:scratchin I have not stayed at either hotels in awhile but I have stayed @ The Grand Californian recently and their price was ....

$17 for SELF PARKING
$25 for VALET

Is it NOT the SAME price FOR ALL of the HOTELS? :confused3

I have stayed at all three Disney Resort hotels. Between PP and DH, I would prefer PP if I was staying by myself. The walk to DCA is closer by walking across the street and using the GCH entrance .Between the two , if I had kids , DH would probably be nicer, but it is a long walk through DownTown Disney to get to the Main entrance. The Monorail wait can be long.

My hotel of choice is the Grand Californian. It is very nice, much closer if you have kids. Im taking the three Grandkids there for 5 days mid Sept. We are staying during Dapper Days. They offer convention rates for the week before and the week after Dapper Day which is Friday, Sept 12 ,2014. Standard room at GCH is only $225/night and 5 day park hoppers were only $251. I reserved them before the price hike. They are now $258 .

After staying at the DLH and PPH multiple times, although the DLH is a shorter walk and you remain ever so slightly "closer to the magic"... If you can afford it, PPH with a Resort View is my absolute favorite. You're looking straight into DCA, which means your kids can look at Cars Land, all lit up, at night. It's fantastic!

When we were at the DLH earlier this month, the parking was 17.00 for self park. It really depends on what you're looking for and looking to spend. I've never stayed in PPH but have been there for meals. Stayed a DLH many times over the years. DLH really has more of a resort feel. Lots of palm trees, and open grassy areas tiki torches. In fact DLH almost had a polynesian vibe to it after this latest remodel. PPH is more of a hotel in feel without as much open outside area, the pool is on the roof, etc. I didn't feel the walk from DLH to Disneyland was too far and we took advantage of the monorail a few times with pretty much no wait, but that can vary. I hear the views from the PPH are great. To me it really depends on what you're looking for. You will save money at PPH. The rooms look bigger at DLH and you get a lot of "Disney touches". Good luck in your decision. You can't go wrong with either.

You are correct----I rechecked my invoice for when we visited the Resort last month, and was charged $17.00 per night for parking.

Parking has gone up from $15.00 to $17.00(self-park) per night, this year!

Ive never stayed at PPH, but did stay at DLH back in June. I must say, it was a great stay. Can't beat the walk and there is the monorail to get you into DL quickly in the morning and nearly all the way "home" at night. The room at DLH is fabulous. That light up headboard is amazing! We had a great view of the pool from the Adventure Tower.

The park view rooms are great at PPH! Personally, I prefer the Disneyland Hotel over both PPH and the GCH. PPH's rooms are actually pretty big and the theming is cute. The elevators are a little slow during peak times and they really should have more elevators for the amount of floors/rooms, though.

The Disneyland Hotel has the edge over PPH with the hotel theming and grounds (pools, proximity to Trader Sam's ). If cost isn't a factor for you, I'd choose it over PPH.

I prefer the DLH over both the PPH and the GCH. It just seems to scream disney everywhere you go. Even though it might be further in some ways, it still is smack in the middle of the magic. The PPH seems a bit isolated, to me, and judging by google maps, you have to walk along a street to get to the parks. The DLH is contemporary, but at the same time, pays tribute to the olden days of disney. DLH is a must for any disney fan and perfectly supplements a disneyland vacation, IMO. But really, you will have a great time either way!:thumbsup2

I have stayed at all 3 Disneyland hotels at least twice. All are great, and PPH is only a few more steps away from the park than the DLH.
Unfortunately for my wallet, my wife has decreed all stays will now be at the Grand Californian.
